Check-In Message from Dean Jennah Jones and Dean Kyle Jones
Dear Class of 2025,
Greetings from Student Affairs and Student Services! Our two teams are excited to welcome you to campus next month. Orientation begins on Monday, August 15 at 9:30am at the Continuing Education Building Courtyard. We look forward to getting to know you, and work with you, over the next three years by providing guidance on personal, academic, and professional issues.
For now we mainly wanted to welcome all of you, and let you know that the two of us are a resource for all your needs. We also wanted to give you a few friendly reminders:
Reminder 1
Orientation begins on Monday, August 15 at 9:30am with a check-in at the Continuing Education Building Courtyard. This building is diagonal from the law school across E. Peltason. All Orientation sessions are mandatory and will take place in person. Please make sure your calendars are marked. We will have a final schedule available for you on our Orientation website shortly, but get ready for 5 days of learning and fun to kick start your legal education. As a heads up, the one evening commitment will be the Dean’s Welcome Dinner on Monday, August 15, otherwise most Orientation events will take place between 8:30am and 5:30pm.

Please check the “Before you Arrive” Orientation page for important details of items you must complete! We wanted to highlight the two items on this list that you must do in order to check-in for Orientation (but we encourage you to check the list for all items, if you have not already):
- UCI Photo ID Cards – Please make sure you upload your photo for your UCI Photo ID by August 3. Photos have to be approved, so we recommend not waiting until August 3 to do your upload. The card office will deliver your IDs to us as long as you upload and have your photo approved by August 3, and we will give it to you during check-in for Orientation. If you do not meet this August 3 deadline, you will need to go to the Hill (campus bookstore) and have your ID card made prior to checking-in for Orientation. The photo upload instructions can be found on this Campus ID Photo Help page.

If you did not submit your photo by the August 3 deadline, please visit The Hill (Campus Bookstore) to have your ID card made prior to arriving at 9:30am for check-in on Monday, August 15. Summer hours and store location can be found at the bottom of the website: https://uci.bncollege.com; note that they are not open during the summer on Saturdays or Sundays.] - Mandatory Immunizations – Please check your lawnet email for a message from the Dean’s Office that was sent on Wednesday, July 20 with details on mandatory immunizations and TB screening for incoming students.

Please take some time for yourself and enjoy some down time before your legal education begins in a couple of weeks. Wellness is very important, so fit in something fun.
