  • Yongcho (David) Cho

    David Cho received his bachelor’s degree in accountancy from UIUC, and completed his J.D. from UC Irvine School of Law in May 2020. During law school, David externed at the Los Angeles District Attorney’s White Collar Crime unit and took various tax courses, including Current Issues in Tax Policy Colloquium. David was fascinated by how various tax mechanisms could supplement regulations and promote public interest. His current interest lies in regulatory tax policy. In David’s free time, he enjoys hiking, swimming, and playing piano. 

  • Sean Lee Coffin

    Sean Lee Coffin earned his J.D. from the George Washington University Law School in 2019.  He was a member of the Journal of Energy and Environmental Law and participated in GW Law School’s New York Corporate Law Program (GWNY).  During law school, he worked for the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (SIFMA) and IHS Markit.  After law school, he taught at the Peking University School of Transnational Law.  He earned his B.A. from UC San Diego where he externed with the Legal Aid Society of San Diego and the San Diego Superior Courts.  He has also interned with the World Bank, the U.S. Department of Labor, and has worked as an English language instructor in Japan and South Korea.
  • Jack Feinfield

    Jack Feinfield recently received his J.D. from UC Irvine School of Law in 2020, graduating magna cum laude. While there, Jack was heavily involved in UCI’s Community and Economic Development Clinic representing clients on a range of litigation and transactional matters involving land use and earning the Faculty Award for his work in the Clinic. During law school, Jack also externed for the Honorable Michael H. Simon in Federal District Court for the District of Oregon. Prior to attending law school, Jack attended Tulane University in New Orleans, double majoring in both Political Science and Economics and had the unique experience of living with the Men’s Basketball Team. Since graduating from UCI, Jack has worked as a litigation associate at Theodora Oringher but recently made the decision to switch to a career in tax, an area of strong interest for him. During his free time, Jack enjoys playing soccer, surfing and traveling.

  • Henry Fienga

    Henry Fienga received his J.D. from UC Irvine in 2021. During the J.D. program he externed at the Orange County District Attorney’s office and clerked at the Law Offices of Jeffrey B. Kahn. Prior to law school, Henry played baseball at Allan Hancock College in Santa Maria, CA, then earned his B.A. in Economics from UC Davis. Henry developed a passion for tax law during his coursework at UC Irvine as well as through his experience writing a research paper about the taxation of college athletes under the new NCAA name, image, and likeness rules. In his free time, Henry enjoys golfing, watching sports, and volunteering as an assistant baseball coach at Westcliff University in Irvine. 

  • Shane Fitzgerald

    Shane Fitzgerald received his J.D. from the University of Colorado School of Law and MBA from the Leeds School of Business in 2021. While in law school, Shane completed an internship with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, participated in the Entrepreneurial Law Clinic, and was an associate editor on the Colorado Law Review. In the business school, Shane had a finance/accounting focus and joined the Beta Sigma Gamma honor society. Prior to law school, Shane graduated from Baylor University with summa cum laude honors. Shane's previous tax law courses inspired him to pursue a Tax LLM at UCI to gain a deeper understanding of the tax code.  Being originally from Orange County, Shane is excited to be back in Orange County and spend more time with family.

  • Aaron Hansen

    Aaron Hansen received his bachelors of arts in history from Columbia University. In 2021, he received his J.D. from New York Law School, where he developed a passion for tax law. He is especially interested in international and M&A tax. His interest and coursework in these fields has led to an internship in international tax and cross-border transactions at Alvarez and Marsal Tax and, where he currently works. This unique professional experience has made him cognizant of current and future tax trends in data analytics and tax modelling, which makes him very excited to participate in the Graduate Tax Program’s data analytics practicum and receive training on, and in collaboration with, Alteryx Designer.

  • Connor Jordan

    Connor Jordan received his J.D. from UCLA Law School in 2021. His passion for tax started after taking a Federal Income Tax class at UCLA Law. In addition to J.D. classes, Connor grew his tax knowledge through an externship for the Honorable Judge Greaves at the U.S. Tax Court and as a summer associate for Rutan. Connor also has a general interest in business and the international economy. He spent his third semester of law school as an exchange student in Germany at Bucerius Law School. In his spare time, Connor enjoys his home gym, watching movies, and traveling.

  • Stanford McCullough

    L. Stanford McCullough IV received his J.D. from the S.J. Quinney School of Law in 2021. Stanford has a personal financial planning background which is where he found his interest in tax and estate planning. During law school, he worked alongside Professor Christine Kim as the Tax Fellow where he assisted on numerous tax research projects, one of which was how blockchain can be applied in the tax world. When not in the classroom, you will find Stanford skiing, mountain biking, canyoneering, or mountaineering.

  • Thomas Multari

    Thomas Multari received his J.D. from UCI Law in 2021. During law school, Thomas interned for the Writs & Appeals Division of the Public Defender’s Office of Orange County and was inspired by his work in UCI’s International Justice Clinic. His coursework and clinical experience provided him with opportunities to deepen his interests in international law, public policy, and overseas trade. These interests subsequently blossomed into a passion for global tax policy through his experiences in International Taxation, the Current Issues in Tax Policy Colloquium, and International Trade & Investment Law. His research in the latter two courses involved, respectively, a comparison of the new international provisions of the 2017 TCJA tax reform bill with the recently implemented USMCA trade agreement, and an analysis of the competitiveness of North American supply chains in the post-COVID-19 landscape. Prior to attending law school, Thomas earned his B.A. from Trinity College in Hartford, where he majored in Political Science and concentrated his studies on energy security, comparative politics, and resource nationalism, primarily in the context of Venezuela. When he is not in the law library, you will likely find Thomas surfing or exploring northern Mexico and the southwestern US.

  • Anthony Perez

    Anthony Salvador Perez graduated with his J.D. from University of California, Irvine School of law where he served as Vice President of OutLaw (LGBTQ+ student club) and externed for the Hon. Rozella A. Oliver (CD Cal) and the Hon. Kim M. Wardlaw (9th Circuit). Anthony’s interest in tax began in his final year of law school when he took courses in federal income tax, partnership tax, and tax practice & procedure—where he wrote his final paper on cannabis state tax laws. He was also a member of the California State Tax Clinic and the Intellectual Property Arts & Technology Clinic. Anthony graduated from Middlebury College, where he studied Spanish and Portuguese Literature, Economics, and Philosophy. After college, he spent four years working as a legal assistant in the Immigrants’ Rights Project at Public Counsel, the nation’s largest pro bono law firm. Anthony loves to explore beaches and national parks in his free time.

  • Xiao (Sunny) Zhu

    Sunny Zhu received her J.D. from the University of California, Irvine School of Law in 2021. Before law school, Sunny graduated from University of Colorado Boulder with a dual degree in Mathematics and Economics with Quantitative Emphasis, and a minor in Applied Statistics. She developed a passion for tax law during her law school tax courses and participation in the California State Tax Clinic. Sunny is interested in using innovative technologies such as big data analytics and machine learning to solve tax problems. In her spare time, Sunny enjoys running, skiing, traveling, and cooking authentic Chinese food.
