Thank you for your interest in the UCI Law Clinics. We do not offer in-person intake appointments so please use this form if you are interested in contacting one of our Law Clinics.
We only offer legal advice and counseling if accepted as a clinic client. Submission of a request for legal assistance to the UCI Law Clinics does not mean that we have agreed to represent or advise you. The UCI Law Clinics cannot provide legal advice to you, or represent you or your organization until: (a) the relevant individual clinic has fully evaluated your request for legal assistance; (b) we know that representing you will not create a conflict of interest; and (c) you, and the relevant law clinic have come to an agreement and both you and the clinic have signed a representation agreement. Until that point, you are not a UCI Law Clinics client, and the UCI Law Clinics does not represent you. The UCI Law Clinics has sole discretion as to which applications it will review, accept, or reject.
Please understand that due to our limited capacity for accepting new cases, the UCI Law Clinics may not respond to your inquiry. You should be aware that the passage of time is always an important consideration in any legal matter. Because any delay can be harmful to your case, we recommend that you contact another law firm, pro bono legal service provider, or lawyer for assistance if you do not hear from us immediately.

To aid you in our consideration of your request for legal assistance, please review the information below regarding the UCI Law Clinics and the types of matters that our individual clinics work on.
Please keep in mind that the UCI Law Clinics do not offer legal assistance for the following matters: child custody, divorce, elder abuse, eviction/unlawful detainer, felonies, general civil litigation, landlord/tenant disputes, malpractice, special education plans or trusts and wills.
Community & Economic Development (CED) Clinic – represents organizational clients on small business and nonprofit development, and affordable housing providers, including tenant groups, seeking to transition their housing communities into non-profit affordable housing ownership.
Consumer Financial Protection Clinic (CFPC) – direct inquiries are not accepted. All requests for assistance from the CFPC must contact the Public Law Center at 714-541-1010.
Criminal Justice Clinic (CJC) – inquiries for representation in misdemeanor cases, post-conviction relief, and vacaturs related to immigration status can be directed to 949-824-8152.
Domestic Violence Clinic (DVC) – works on domestic violence restraining order cases only. Please note that the DVC does not accept general family law matters, divorce or custody cases.
Environmental Law Clinic (ELC) - typically represents not-for-profit organizations working on the conservation of sacred and ecologically important natural resources, climate change, and the protection and enhancement of human health.
Immigrant & Racial Justice Solidarity Clinic (IRJSC) – provides limited services for detained individuals, consultations, bond, and habeas assistance, as well as know-your-rights education. The IRJSC does not handle general immigration application processing.
Intellectual Property, Arts, & Technology (IPAT) Clinic – inquiries for assistance with filmmaker counseling, tech startup, trademark, and press freedom matters, should be submitted at the IPAT Clinic intake page. The IPAT Clinic does not accept patent cases.
Ninth Circuit Appellate Litigation Clinic – direct inquiries are not accepted. All cases are referred through U.S. Court of Appeals, Ninth Circuit pro bono program.
Startup & Small Business Clinic – inquiries for assistance with startups and small business should be submitted at the SSBC intake page.
Workers & Tenants Law & Organizing Clinic - provides creative legal support for innovative low-wage worker and tenant organizing campaigns, locally and nationally.
