Mary Basick 

Assistant Dean for Academic Skills Mary Basick co-authored with Tania Shah of Western State College of Law the book chapter, “Orientation and Beyond —Transparency About Legal Culture Helps Level the Playing Field for First Generation Law Students,” that appears in the forthcoming book, “Fostering First Gen Success and Inclusion: A Guide for Law Schools” (Carolina Academic Press, 2024). Additionally, Basick was recently appointed Chair of the Law School Council, California State Bar, serving a term from October 2023 – September 2024.  

Joshua Blank 

Professor of Law Joshua D. Blank co-authored the article, "Democratic Accountability and Tax Enforcement," 61 Harvard Journal on Legislation __ (forthcoming, 2024), with Leigh Osofsky of the University of North Carolina (UNC) at Chapel Hill School of Law. Blank also co-authored the handbook, "Corporate Tax Shelters," in “Research Handbook on Corporate Taxation” (Reuven Avi-Yonah, ed., Edward Elgar Publishing, 2023), with Ari Glogower of Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. 

Additionally, Blank will participate in two forthcoming speaking engagements: Presenter, "Democratizing Administrative Law" (with Leigh Osofsky), Duke Law School, Durham, NC (March 22, 2024); and Panel organizer, "Reparations and Taxation", American Bar Association Tax Section, San Francisco, CA (Jan 19, 2024). 

Ari Waldman 
 
Professor of Law Ari Waldman authored the article, “Opening the Gender Box: Legibility Dilemmas and Gender Data Collection on U.S. State Government Forms,” Law & Social Inquiry, Volume 00, Issue 00, 1–31, 2024. Additionally, Waldman and Julie E. Cohen of Georgetown Law served as special editors of the Volume 86, Number 3 – 2023 issue of Law & Contemporary Problems titled, “Regulatory Managerialism and Public Governance.” For the issue, Waldman and Cohen co-authored, “Introduction: Framing Regulatory Managerialism as an Object of Study and Strategic Displacement,” Law & Contemporary Problems 86: i-xxi (2023).
