Adrian Arias receives Mexican American Bar Foundation scholarship

This 2L is the first UCI Law student to receive a scholarship from the Mexican American Bar Foundation. The foundation's mission is to enhance the diversity of the legal profession through education. Established in 1991 by volunteer lawyers and judges, the foundation provides financial assistance to Latino law students who demonstrate academic achievement, community service and leadership and who have overcome hardships in pursuing an education. A member of the Latina/o Law Students Association at UCI Law, Arias has volunteered at the Public Law Center's Naturalization Clinic, done pro bono work in housing litigation and is working this summer for U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Erithe Smith.
