Creating Solutions for Complex, Global Issues

They are all interdisciplinary, bringing together UCI Law faculty and students with professors from across campus and throughout the world. We're not just part of the conversation, we're leading it. 

Center for African Business, Law & Entrepreneurship (CABLE)

Shaping the discussion of issues related to law and legal reform in Africa, the center provides a robust environment in which questions related to law, business and entrepreneurship in African contexts are considered, researched, and discussed.

Center for Biotechnology and Global Health Policy

The center serves as a reference point for research, policy development and advocacy concerning science, biotechnology, bioethics and reproductive healthcare in the U.S. and abroad. 

Center of Globalization, Law and Society (GLAS)

GLAS is the center for the study of international, transnational and comparative law across UC Irvine campus — serving as a focal point for cutting-edge research on the development and operation of law in a globalized society. 

Center for Land, Environment, and Natural Resources (CLEANR)

CLEANR is a prominent interdisciplinary enue for scholarship, education, stakeholder collaboration, and public engagement on environmental, natural resourcesa and land use law. 

Center on Law, Equality and Race (CLEaR)

Promoting greater racial equality through research, education and advocacy. CLEaR builds advocacy networks, supports engagement with students and scholars across multiple disciplines, promotes community outreach, and creates programs to address the complex problems of racial inequality and racism. 

Center in Law, Society and Culture (CLSC)

Through biweekly workshops, regular lectures and other public events, and a new graduate Emphasis in Law, Society, and Culture, CLSC promotes interdisciplinary scholarship and faculty-student collaboration on socio-legal studies, bringing together faculty and students in law, the humanities, the social sciences, and the arts. 

Initiative to End Family Violence

UCI Law is breaking ground with research, education, clinical care and community collaboration on family violence prevention and intervention. In this innovative interdisciplinary initiative, faculty members from 21 UC Irvine departments collaborate with community partners to address the pervasive and life-threatening problem of family violence across the lifespan. 

Korea Law Center

Students, legal scholars, judges and businessmen from South Korea and the U.S. find practical solutions to problems arising at the intersection of the U.S. and Korean law in this center. 

Long US-China Institute

The Long Institute studies the opportunities and challenges of China's unprecedented rise. Its unique research and outreach activities provide cutting-edge insight into China's most important legal, social and business issues, including: economic growth, trade and investment, social development, health and safety, philanthropy and wealth management.
