Meet Lamia:
I chose UC Irvine because I was drawn to the sense of community and the dedication to public service. I am pleased to say that I was not disappointed! Everyone has been welcoming and willing to help each other out. I am grateful to have great classmates and I have fortunately made some wonderful friends. Further, UC Irvine Law professors are all passionate, approachable, and genuinely interested in teaching. I believe that this friendly and collaborative environment makes UC Irvine unique and a great place to get your JD.

UC Irvine Law has provided many different ways to get involved. As a 1L, students are able to participate in the pro-bono program. That means I was able to do real, hands-on, client-based work within the first few months of my law school career. For example, I did a project with Alliance for Children's Rights and was asked to call clients and draft a memo for a judge! This provided me with invaluable legal experience and helped prepare me for my first summer job. I have also really enjoyed being a part of different campus organizations and attending their events and networking opportunities.

I have also had a great time exploring Orange County and have even decided that I would like to stay here. I have taken it upon myself to try every coffee shop and boba place I come across. There are also a lot of options for good food. And of course, LA is only an hour away!
