Meet Seyar:
Hello! I’m so thrilled to be an Admissions Ambassador because it was my experience with current students and now-alumni that solidified my decision to attend UC Irvine Law—and I’d love to pay that forward!
I was born to Afghan immigrant parents and never had lawyers in the family, but I witnessed my family face intimidating systems alone, like debt collection, scams, and immigration proceedings. Before making the leap to law school, I worked for a refugee resettlement agency and provided immigration legal services to members of the community.
I immediately knew UC Irvine Law was where I needed to be. The student body and faculty are so approachable and supportive. And they motivate me to be the best version of myself, both professionally and personally. I’ve had the opportunity to provide pro bono support to the community, lead and engage with student organizations I resonate with, and connect with practitioners who strongly believe in economic justice like I do. Of course, law school is also rigorous, but I’ve learned to embrace the power of a nice walk outside and a wholesome chat with friends unrelated to school.
Outside of the classroom, I love learning languages, watching video essays, and scouring Orange County for the best sweet treats it has to offer. My favorite pastries are from Chaupain in Newport Beach and Little France in Mission Viejo.
There are so many individualized factors that go into the decision to go to law school, so please reach out if you have any questions!
