Meet Mika:
Hey everyone! I'm Mika, a first-gen college grad and law student. A little background about me-- I was born and raised in Los Angeles, but moved to Memphis, TN in 2018 as part of Teach for America. While there, I obtained my Masters Degree in Education from Johns Hopkins University. I spent 3 years there before I moved to Houston, TX to work in nonprofit project management for a couple of years.
I came to UC Irvine both to come home to California, but also because of highly UC Irvine alum spoke of the law school. Since coming, I've been met with such a community of peers and professors. UC Irvine has a great emphasis on clinics and pro bono, so I've been able to work on a variety of meaningful projects through both programs. I am able to pursue a career in commercial and complex litigation while also staying true to my values of giving back to communities and advocating for civil rights. With my background, I deeply value diverse perspectives and aim to empower others to have their voices heard.
I can't wait to extend a warm welcome to new students and assist them in navigating the application process, inviting them to join the vibrant UC Irvine community!
