The University of California, Irvine School of Law (UCI Law) is delighted to welcome 158 first-year J.D. students, 42 LL.M. students, and nine inaugural students in our Graduate Tax Program.

Highlights from orientation week at UCI Law included welcome events with Dean Song Richardson and talks by our alumni, third-year students, and faculty on the importance of networking, wellness and developing effective study plans. Additionally, Professor of Law Alexandra Natapoff delivered a keynote address to the J.D. cohort on her new book "Punishment Without Crime: How Our Massive Misdemeanor System Traps the Innocent and Makes America More Unequal," one of this year's summer reading assignments for incoming 1Ls.

Students in the Graduate Tax Program participated in a networking cruise around Newport Harbor, getting to know local tax practitioners and faculty.
