New faculty member David Kaye is director of the new UCI Law International Justice Clinic. He joins us from UCLA School of Law, where he was the founding executive director of the International Human Rights Law Program. His scholarship, clinical work, and teaching focus on international humanitarian law, mass violations of human rights, the law governing use of force, and international justice in both The Hague and in domestic courts worldwide. Before going into teaching, Kaye, who has undergraduate and law degrees from UC Berkeley, served as an international lawyer with the State Department, handling a wide range of subjects, from application of the Geneva Conventions and other treaties in the law of war to nuclear nonproliferation, litigation before international courts, and international criminal justice.
