Mario Barnes, Carroll Seron elected officers of Law and Society Association
The Law and Society Association has elected Prof. Carroll Seron as president and Prof. Mario Barnes as treasurer for 2013. Founded in 1964, the association comprises scholars from many fields and countries who are interested in the place of law in social, political, economic and cultural life. Seron is Professor and Chair in the Department of Criminology, Law and Society at UCI, and also holds appointments in the Department of Sociology and the School of Law. Barnes is Professor and Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs at the UCI Law. He holds a joint appointment in Criminology, Law and Society, is a Faculty Affiliate in the Center in Law, Society and Culture, and is co-director of the UCI Center on Law, Equality and Race.
