Background:

Prof. Rho is tenured professor of Seoul National University School of law, Seoul, Korea. Previously he served as a judge of the Seoul Southern District Court for two years and a senior associate lawyer of the law firm “Woo & Yoon” for two years. He also worked at Clifford Chance LLP, London under secondment program.

He has worked and published extensively on corporate law, securities regulations, and trust law. His papers were selected as best paper of the year by many academic associations, including the Korean Securities Law Association (2013 & 2018), the Korean Commercial Law Association (2015) and the Korean Business Law Association (2016 & 2020). He also has extensive experience in advising various institutions in Korea such as the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Finance and Economy, the Financial Supervisory Commission, the Fair Trade Commission, the Korea Exchange and the Korea Securities Depository. Major committees he has served include the Capital Market Investigation Committee (by the Financial Supervisory Service) and the Listed Company Estimation Committee (by the Korea Exchange). He attended the UNCITRAL Working Group 1 (on the micro business) as the delegate of the Korean government, as well.
