David N. Finley

Background:

David Finley is the founder, president and lead research attorney at Esquire One Research Services, an Orange County legal research firm that develops law book manuscript and provides legal motion drafting services. He is author or co-author of more than two dozen legal practice guides published by Thomson Reuters, West Publishing and The Rutter Group, including prominent leading works on motion practice such as California Motions in LimineFederal Summary Judgment, and California Law & Motion Authorities for Civil Cases.

He received his Juris Doctor degree from University of California, Hastings College of the Law, where he was a student teaching fellow, a "Best Brief" award winner, and a member of the Moot Court Honors Board. He earned his Bachelor of Science degree, cum laude, in Business Administration from California State University at Long Beach and a Marketing Strategy Certificate from Cornell University's Johnson School of Management. He previously taught Legal Research and Writing (2006-2007) and California Motion Drafting and Procedures (2010-2016) at Chapman University Fowler School of Law. He is currently a member of the California Bar and previously served as a Section and Committee Chair for the Institutional Advancement Section of the Association of American Law Schools (AALS).
