Rose D. Angulo
RJA Attorney
Orange County Public Defender’s Office
Rose D. Angulo is the Racial Justice Act attorney with the Orange County Public Defender’s Office, where she has worked for the past nine years in various trial and non-trial roles. Before that, she represented capital clients in post-conviction litigation with the Federal Public Defender’s Office for the Central District of California. She graduated from New York University School of Law in 2008.
Rose began her fight for racial justice in Orange County in 1994, when she joined the executive board of her high school’s racial justice program. Recognizing that the work is never done, she takes inspiration from the words of Rep. John Lewis: “Do not get lost in a sea of despair. Be hopeful, be optimistic. Our struggle is not the struggle of a day, a week, a month, or a year, it is the struggle of a lifetime. Never, ever be afraid to make some noise and get in good trouble, necessary trouble.”
