Meet Hazel:
Hi everyone! My name is Hazel, and I'm a 3L at UC Irvine Law. Outside of school, I stay busy with figure skating, Rubik's Cubes, cooking, hiking, line dancing, and reading — I like keeping active and creative when I'm not in the library.
During my 1L year, I volunteered with Innocence OC, which led to a full-time summer internship working on multiple post-conviction cases on behalf of individuals with claims of actual innocence. I drafted habeas petitions and appellate briefs and attended several depositions.
As a 2L, I served as a Community Fellow, mentoring incoming 1Ls as they adjusted to the demands of law school, worked as an Admissions Ambassador, and competed in the school's Moot Court competition. This year, I'm joining the Ninth Circuit Appellate Litigation Clinic.
UC Irvine Law has been an incredibly supportive community, and I've made some of my closest friends here. I especially enjoy connecting with prospective students — please don't hesitate to reach out with any questions!
