Meet Valerie:
Hi! I’m Valerie Boutros, a current 2L at UC Irvine School of Law, and I’m so happy to be back at UC Irvine. Whenever someone notices that I’m a double Anteater, they usually ask, “Why did you come back?” My answer is always the same: this community has always felt like home. From my undergraduate years to now, UC Irvine has been a place where I’ve felt supported, challenged, and genuinely valued, which made returning for law school feel like a natural choice.
I wanted to serve as an Admissions Ambassador because, as a first-generation student, I know how meaningful it is to have accessible and honest resources during the law school application process. When I was applying, UC Irvine Law students and the admissions team were incredibly generous with their time, guidance, and encouragement, and I hope to be that same resource for prospective students.
At UC Irvine Law, I’ve found meaningful ways to get involved in the community, including serving as Co-President of the International Law Society and MESALSA. Pro bono work is also especially important to me, and I’ve enjoyed giving back through working with the Elder Law & Disability Rights Center. Most of all, I’ve loved making new friends with my classmates (shoutout Mod C) and learning from incredible faculty.
Outside of law school, I enjoy attending live music events, going to the beach, thrifting, traveling, visiting museums, collecting vinyl records, and spending time with family and friends. I’m always happy to chat about life at UC Irvine, law school, or anything in between.
