UCI Law celebrates its Inaugural Class with school's first ever five-year reunion

IRVINE, Calif., May 8, 2017 — The University of California, Irvine School of Law will celebrate the five-year reunion of its Inaugural Class of 2012, one of three events to take place during the school’s sixth Commencement Weekend, May 12-13, 2017.

First, our Public Service Award Dinner at the Island Hotel in Newport Beach on Friday, May 12, from 6:30 to 9:00 p.m. will honor the extraordinary public service of Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti. The Inaugural Class of UCI Law will also be recognized for their achievements.

Second, our sixth Commencement will take place Saturday, May 13, from 9:30 to 11:00 a.m. in Aldrich Park in the center of the UC Irvine campus. The Honorable Alex Kozinski, Judge of the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit, will deliver the Commencement Address. Ninety-four students are expected to participate in the ceremony.

Finally, the Inaugural Class Reunion will take place Saturday, May 13, from 3:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the UCI Banning House.

“Holding our first reunion is truly a wonderful milestone for the Law School. The Inaugural Class members were our partners in creating a new law school; they created the Law Review, the Moot Court Program, Student Bar Association and many other student organizations. They were our advisors and our colleagues in creating this institution,” said Erwin Chemerinsky, Founding Dean of University of California, Irvine School of Law.
