Media Advisory: UC Irvine School of Law Students to Host Conference on “Confronting Legal Issues at the Nexus of Entertainment and Technology”

WHAT: This symposium will examine current legal issues at the nexus of entertainment and technology in a rapidly changing digital frontier. The Internet has provided the public unprecedented access to digital information, and as a result the entertainment industry has faced a myriad of challenges.

The panelists at this symposium will discuss the consequences of legal decisions on access to entertainment in the Internet age, and will explore questions that directly affect the way consumers access entertainment, how artists and entertainers create content, and the future landscape of entertainment and information distribution.

  • ASCAP/BMI Consent Decrees in the Age of Digital Distribution
  • The FCC’s Vote on Net Neutrality: Implications, Predictions, and Perspectives

WHO: This conference is organized by Entertainment Law Society at UC Irvine. Participants include experts from the legal, technological, business, media, entertainment, and government sectors. Keynote speaker is Chris Piazzola, Vice President, Business & Legal Affairs, Hulu.
