Michele Goodwin to Receive Be the Change Award

Chancellor’s Professor of Law Michele Goodwin will be honored on Sept. 6, 2019, at the 3rd Annual Diversity & Inclusion, Unity In Service Celebration Youth Conference & Be the Change Awards, hosted at Chapman University Fowler School of Law. An expert in bioethics, constitutional law, family law, health law, reproductive rights, and torts, Prof. Goodwin will be recognized with the Be the Change award for her ongoing work as an advocate for civil liberties and civil rights and her thought leadership in diversity, inclusion and gender justice. She also recently received an award from the Orange County Interfaith Network for her work as "an educator, author, and advocate" and being an "agent for transformation." 

Prof. Goodwin is an elected member of the American Law Institute and an elected Fellow of the American Bar Foundation and the Hastings Center. She also serves on the executive board of the American Civil Liberties Union and is the director of the UCI Law Center for Biotechnology and Global Health Policy
