UCI Celebrates 2nd Annual Latino Excellence and Achievement Dinner
UCI hosted the 2nd Annual Latino Excellence and Achievement Dinner (LEAD) on April 4, 2019, recognizing faculty, staff and alumni who have accomplished academic and professional achievements in the UCI Latino community. UCI Law Professor Alex Camacho served on the planning committee and third-year student Fernando Nunez was recognized with a 2019 Leadership Award. The award recognizes those who have advocated, supported and championed student success and research excellence in the Latinx community at UCI and in Orange County. More than 200 people were in attendance, including Chancellor Howard Gillman and keynote speaker Hon. Sal Sarmiento of the Superior Court of Orange County.
