Professor Captain In Hyeon Kim is a professor in Maritime Law and Marine Insurance Law and the Director of the Maritime Law Center at Korea University School of Law. He was a former master of Sanko Steamship Co Ltd, and he is a holder of valid Master's license.

Professor Kim studied nautical science at the Korea Maritime University and Law at Korea University. He holds an LL.D. and PhD in Law from Korea University, and an LL.M. from the University of Texas at Austin.

Professor Kim has served as a maritime consultant for Kim & Chang, the largest law firm in Korea; as President of the Korea Maritime Law Association; as a legal adviser for the Korean government to the UNCITRAL Transport Law Project (Rotterdam Rules) and the Legal Committee of the IMO; as a member of the revision committee for Korean Commercial Code Maritime Law Section; and as the chairman for establishing the Seoul Maritime Arbitration Association. Currently, he is a member of the Planning Committee of CMI and a listed member of the Korea Commercial Arbitration Board and SCMA.

Professor Kim has published several English articles on maritime law in the Journal of Maritime Law & Commerce and the Hong Kong Law Journal. He is the author of Transport Law in South Korea (Kluwer: 2013).
