Technical Resources

Zoom is a videoconferencing tool that your instructors may choose to use to hold classes.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Please see the Joint statement of the UC Location CIOs regarding Zoom security and privacy issues and best practices.

To attend a Zoom session:

  1. Download the Zoom Client for Meetings
  2. In most cases, all you will need is the meeting ID and/or Zoom link that the instructor provides via email or Canvas.

A quickstart guide is available on the Zoom website. If you have any questions, feel free to contact IT at help@law.uci.edu or (949) 824-1434.

Some instructors may make their class recordings available to students through the Class Recordings Request system

You must sign an acknowledgement that you are aware of the Law School's Recording Policy before you can request a class recording. Links to recorded classes will be released only to students who have a signed acknowledgment on file. For guidance on how to use the system, please refer to the Class Recording Request System Instructions (PDF).

If you are off campus and need to access resources that are only available when logged in at the Law School, you will need to log in to the VPN.

Please note: In light of the current state social distancing and stay-at-home guidelines, it is required that any hardware being used for audio/video teleconferencing must have an operating web camera and microphone to fully participate in any distance learning classes. This also includes a minimum bandwidth of 2.5 Gbs/sec. For full technological requirements for Zoom conferencing please visit the Zoom Hardware Requirements page
