Types of Gifts

The UCI Law Fund

The broad, expendable fund for the University of California, Irvine School of Law is the UCI Law Fund. Gifts to the UCI Law Fund help us meet the discretionary needs of the law school in faculty research and support, student scholarships, public interest grants and core program operations. Naming opportunities are available to donors who would like to restrict their significant gifts to a specific purpose.

Public Service

Al Meyerhoff Public Interest Fellowships
In 2010, Marcia Brandwynne memorialized Al Meyerhoff’s deep commitment to public service by creating the Al Meyerhoff Public Interest Fellows program at UC Irvine School of Law. Our goal is to provide funding to cover the base living expenses of the Fellows while they take on non-paying summer public interest jobs, working at a wide array of agencies, such as Southern Environmental Law Center, the Lawyers Committee for Civil Rights, the Alliance for Children’s Rights, and many others.

Endowed Gift Funds

Our vision for the finest 21st century law school includes the establishment of endowed professorships, scholarships and public interest grants, which provide consistently reliable, vital budgetary support to meet the needs of a growing school. These investments in future generations of students may be restricted to your preferred subject area and bear the name of your designated honoree in perpetuity.

Corporate Partnerships

Firms, corporations and foundations are proving to be extremely generous in their support of the University of California, Irvine School of Law. Local and national organizations are participating on advisory councils, making scholarship gifts and committing to interview our students on campus. These relationships will enrich the communal life of our growing law school as well as create partnerships with the broader legal community.

Planned Gifts

Many tax-efficient methods are available to make wise and prudent estate gifts. The professional staff at UCI Law and the campus-wide Office of Legacy Planning would be pleased to assist you in exploring planned gifts intended to benefit the law school, such as annuities, unitrusts and bequests.

Saturday Academy of Law

A pipeline program taught by credentialed teachers and supported by UCI undergraduates and UCI law students is the Saturday Academy of Law (SAL).  Gifts to SAL help to provide a series of Saturday morning classes for 9th grade students in the Santa Ana Unified School District, aimed at developing the skills participants will need to successfully pursue higher education and a potential career in the law.
