Sahar Naseery

This 2L was chosen by the American Counsel Association to receive the 2013 George Kerr 9th Circuit Scholarship, awarded annually to one student at a law school in the 9th Circuit who demonstrates aptitude, achievement, public service and financial need. A UC Berkeley graduate with a double major in Political Science and Mass Communications, Naseery sought a service-oriented career and felt “the biggest contribution I could make to society would be through the law.” She was drawn by UCI Law’s public service mission and experiential learning focus. Also, “I believed that the size of the school would promote a more collaborative environment conducive to learning - and I was right!” She is involved with the Iraqi Refugee Assistance Project and serves as a board member for Moot Court and Global Justice Summit. She also volunteers to help younger students through UCI Law’s Saturday Academy of Law and the national Street Law program.
