1Ls: Law School Resources Open House: Monday, August 17, 12:00pm-1:00pm; Start on MPAA 4th Floor: Join us on the first day of classes for our annual Open House. First, pick up a game board in MPAA 410 then visit each office on the game board to collect stamps. Once you've gathered all the stamps, head to the courtyard for a pizza lunch. Snacks, cold brew, and UC Irvine Law swag will be available along the way, while supplies last!
Student Involvement Fair: Thursday, August 20, 12:00pm-1:00pm; LAW Courtyard: Meet representatives from various student groups and discover how to get involved in this amazing community!

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS
Preferred Names: Students can submit a preferred name via StudentAccess, which will replace their legal name on certain University records, including transcripts and diplomas. To avoid having a preferred name on diplomas, students must remove it in StudentAccess before commencement. More details are available here.
Campus Resources: Law students can benefit from services at the Law School and on Main Campus. On our Campus Resources webpage you will find a variety of resources that we encourage you to take advantage of. Dr. J is our liaison to each of these offices, so please be in touch with her if you need any additional assistance!
On-site Counseling: The Counseling Center has a law school satellite office located in MPAA 210F, where Dr. Diana Chan will provide short-term therapy to help you address your concerns. Therapy is provided virtually and in-person during the academic year. Common concerns include relationship issues, academic concerns, trouble adjusting to law school, anxiety, depression, etc. You can schedule an appointment with Dr. Chan by calling (949) 824-6457. Please specify that you would like to see Dr. Chan at the law school.
Orange County Coalition for Diversity in Law: Panel - Navigating the Orange County Legal Market in 2026: Wednesday, August 19, 12:00pm, Law School: Hear from industry leaders as they share perspectives, trends, and strategies for success in today's evolving legal landscape. 1Ls: 2026-2027 LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring Program: The LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring Program is designed to ensure first-year law students receive the support, guidance, and practical advice needed to maximize their potential during law school and beyond. Matching is done on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration closes November 20.
2Ls and 3Ls: Law360 is conducting a survey of students who completed summer associate programs this summer. The responses will be evaluated and shared in articles later this fall. If you would like to participate, access the survey here.
2026 Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP): This program is designed to connect federal employers nationwide with students with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their skills and talents in the workplace through internships or permanent jobs. All WRP candidates must provide either a Schedule A letter or other acceptable disability documentation (see above) when applying to participate in the WRP. Apply here by October 4.

Southern California Prosecutorial Career Fair: Friday, September 4, 9:00am - 4:00pm, County of Orange County Conference Center: Explore a variety of career options within various District Attorney Offices and learn about the unique office cultures, job openings, and the numerous benefits that come with a career in prosecution. Participating attorneys will provide resume review, interview advice, career guidance, and offices will conduct on the spot interviews. Register by August 20.
