UCI Alumni and Friends Walk: Saturday, August 29, 9:00am, MoonGoat Coffee: UCI students and friends are invited to join the next Alumni and Friends Walk. The group will be at MoonGoat starting at 8:30 am, and the walk will begin at 9:00 am. This month, the walk will be led by Patty Le-Narula (UCI '92) and Rabi Narula (UCI '92) in place of regular walk leader Goran Matijasevic (UCI PhD '91), Executive Director of the Chief Executive Roundtable. Rabi is a retired IP attorney who spent 25 years with Knobbe Martens and Patty works in the CDO. All are welcome - no RSVP is required. Future walks will be held on September 26 and October 24 at the same time and location. We hope to see you there!
Law and Justice Workshop Series: 12:00pm - 1:00pm, Law 3750: Our Justice as Lens initiative launched in 2025 with a series of community conversations that sparked engaged, wide-ranging discussions about the intersection of justice and law. The Law & Justice Workshop Series builds on that momentum with convenings that provide a chance to dig into justice-infused topics and critical perspectives through the lens of first-year courses, alongside the faculty who teach them.

IF YOU LOSE OR MISPLACE YOUR KEY CARD, contact the UCI Law Facilities Department immediately to have it disabled and request a replacement card. A nonrefundable replacement fee of $15, paid in advance through this online payment form, is required to receive a new card. You will be contacted by email at your LawNet email account when a new card is ready to be picked up.
1Ls: Register for the California Bar: All students planning to take the California State Bar must register with the Bar within the first 90 days of law school. See Dean Kyle Jones' 8/18 email for additional information.

2Ls & 3Ls: Degree Audit Reports: As you finalize your fall 2026 schedules, ensure that you are meeting your graduation requirements by checking your personalized Degree Audit Report. See Dean Kyle Jones' 8/19 email for additional information.
Mandatory Training Notification: All students are required to complete the assigned trainings each academic year. See Dean Kyle Jones' 8/17 email for course access and additional information. Deadline for course completion is November 6.

Campus Resources: Law students can benefit from services at the Law School and on Main Campus. On our Campus Resources webpage you will find a variety of resources that we encourage you to take advantage of. Dr. J is our liaison to each of these offices, so please be in touch with her if you need any additional assistance!
On-site Counseling: The Counseling Center has a law school satellite office located in MPAA 210F, where Dr. Diana Chan will provide short-term therapy to help you address your concerns. Therapy is provided virtually and in-person during the academic year. Common concerns include relationship issues, academic concerns, trouble adjusting to law school, anxiety, depression, etc. You can schedule an appointment with Dr. Chan by calling (949) 824-6457. Please specify that you would like to see Dr. Chan at the law school.
1Ls: 2026-2027 LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring Program: The LCLD Success in Law School Mentoring Program is designed to ensure first-year law students receive the support, guidance, and practical advice needed to maximize their potential during law school and beyond. Matching is done on a first-come, first-served basis, and registration closes November 20.
2Ls and 3Ls: Law360 is conducting a survey of students who completed summer associate programs this summer. The responses will be evaluated and shared in articles later this fall. If you would like to participate, access the survey here.
2026 Workforce Recruitment Program (WRP): This program is designed to connect federal employers nationwide with students with disabilities who are eager to demonstrate their skills and talents in the workplace through internships or permanent jobs. All WRP candidates must provide either a Schedule A letter or other acceptable disability documentation (see above) when applying to participate in the WRP. Apply here by October 4.
2026 National Law Students Workers’ Rights Conference: October 16 - 17, Baltimore: The scholarship application closes at 12 midnight on September 1. See Dean Deol's 8/3 email for details.
Philippine American Bar Association (PABA): The Philippine American Bar Association ("PABA") is the largest and oldest local association of Filipino-American lawyers in the United States and is dedicated to supporting the Filipino-American legal community, including law students and aspiring attorneys. PABA supports law students through mentorship, networking, and professional development opportunities. If any of that interests you, please consider joining PABA as a student member, which is currently free.
CAREER FAIRS
2Ls and 3Ls: 2026 Equal Justice Works Career Fair: October 8 - 9, Virtual: Registration is now open. See Dean Deol's 8/12 email for details.
Southern California Prosecutorial Career Fair: Friday, September 4, 9:00am - 4:00pm, County of Orange County Conference Center: Explore a variety of career options within various District Attorney Offices and learn about the unique office cultures, job openings, and the numerous benefits that come with a career in prosecution. Participating attorneys will provide resume review, interview advice, career guidance, and offices will conduct on the spot interviews. Register by August 20.
Know Your Rights: Refer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210). The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
