Rising 2Ls: Public Service Scholarship: Recipients are awarded an increase of up to $50,000 on their current UC Irvine Law Scholarship. See Nasreen Zia’s 5/18 email for more information. Apply by June 12.

Rising 2Ls: Fisher Phillips has two 2027 2L Summer Associate opportunities available in San Diego and Irvine. Apply by June 15 at 12:00pm.

Rising 2Ls: Biglaw 2027 Summer Associate Hiring: The CDO has provided a list of law firms that either opened applications earlier this year, recently opened their application for the first time, or have opened or are scheduled to open a second application to allow students to apply with two semesters of grades. Fall 2026 Registration Information:

Student Notes and Comments for Law Review: The UC Irvine Law Review is soliciting student Notes and Comments for the upcoming Issues 17.3 & 17.4. See Dr. J’s 5/15 email for more information. Submissions are due by June 16 at 11:59pm.

UCI Law in NYC Seventh Annual Summer Program: This is a non-credit program for students who are interested in exploring career paths in New York and also offers an annual series of summer events for students who are in NYC. Registration is required for events shown below:

California Lawyers Association (CLA): Student Reporter Scholarship: June 12-13, VEA Newport Beach, A Marriott Resort & Spa: The CLA is seeking current law students to serve as Student Reporters for the Solo Small Firm Summit. Student reporters will attend the conference, take and post photographs on their own and CLA social media, and author a short recap article after the summit. Student Reporters will receive a complimentary conference registration, learn and network from experienced attorneys and legal professionals, have an opportunity to show their writing and speaking skills, and receive mentorship and coaching in the preparation, writing, and editing processes. Submit an up-to-date resume, a 2-5 page writing sample, and a 150-300 word statement of interest by email to newlawyers@calawyers.org. You must be a member of CLA to be considered. Membership in CLA is free for law students. Applications are considered on a rolling basis.

Veterans’ Legal Career Fair: September 18, Washington, D.C.: This career fair connects current and former U.S. military personnel from all six branches with leading national employers and offers career preparation, guidance, and coaching from the country’s military and business leaders to help veterans navigate the transition to civilian practice. Register to attend.

Know Your RightsRefer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210).  The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
