California Lawyers Association (CLA): Student Reporter Scholarship: June 12-13, VEA Newport Beach, A Marriott Resort & Spa: The CLA is seeking current law students to serve as Student Reporters for the Solo Small Firm Summit. Student reporters will attend the conference, take and post photographs on their own and CLA social media, and author a short recap article after the summit. Student Reporters will receive a complimentary conference registration, learn and network from experienced attorneys and legal professionals, have an opportunity to show their writing and speaking skills, and receive mentorship and coaching in the preparation, writing, and editing processes. Submit an up-to-date resume, a 2-5 page writing sample, and a 150-300 word statement of interest by email to newlawyers@calawyers.org. You must be a member of CLA to be considered. Veterans’ Legal Career Fair: September 18, Washington, D.C.: This career fair connects current and former U.S. military personnel from all six branches with leading national employers and offers career preparation, guidance, and coaching from the country’s military and business leaders to help veterans navigate the transition to civilian practice. Register to attend.
Know Your Rights: Refer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210). The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
