Admitted Student Weekend (ASW) Student Organization Fair: April 10, 7:15pm-9:00pm, Graduate Family Housing (GFH) Verano Community Center: The SBA will be hosting a Student Organization Fair during ASW. Two representatives from each group may be present. See Debbie Mondares' 3/9 email for details and the link to RSVP by March 20. 

Confronting the Impact of Recent Executive Actions Against the LGBTQIA+ Community: April 6, 12:00pm-1:00pm, EDU 1131: The UCI Law EDI Committee invites you to join the next discussion in their series "The Limits of Executive Power," and hear from Professor Courtney Cahill, an expert in constitutional law, anti-discrimination law, sex, and LGBTQ equality. Prof. Cahill will share insight on many of the Executive Orders directly attacking LGBTQ community access to education, federal employment, healthcare, etc. Thank you to OutLaw for co-sponsoring this event! RSVP by April 1 at 11:59pm.

SBA Awards & 2026-2027 Board Election and Candidacy Statements: Both the SBA Award Nomination Form and SBA Board Candidacy Statement Form are now open. Disney Lawyers of Color: A View from the Inside: How Disney’s In-House Lawyers Serve a Global Entertainment Company: April 2, 12:00pm-1:30pm, Virtual: Join The Walt Disney Company in conversation with Horacio Gutierrez as he discusses his personal career journey and shares how Disney’s legal team serves the company’s numerous global business segments. RSVP for the event.

Center for Equal Opportunity 5th Annual Civil Rights Fellowship: August 10-15, Washington, DC: Participants will receive instruction in seminar-style sessions led by law and policy experts, litigators, former and current government officials on a range of civil rights topics. Fellows will be awarded a $500 stipend, lodging, and meals. Travel expenses will be reimbursed. Apply by April 15.

The California Lawyers Association’s Business Law Section Law Student Essay Contest: First place receives $3,000 for reimbursement of a bar review program. Apply by April 30 at 11:59pm.

The National LGBTQ+ Bar Association & Foundation: The 2026 Lavender Law Conference & Career Fair: July 13-15, Chicago, IL: Candidates will talk directly to LGBTQ+ friendly recruiters from law firms, government agencies, LGBTQ+ rights groups, and corporate legal departments. LGBTQ+ students seeking to attend the conference may apply for need-based student travel grants assisting with travel to and from the conference. Look into membership fees and register for the conference and career fair as a member or non-member.  

SCHOLARSHIPS & FELLOWSHIPS

USLAW NETWORK Foundation Law School Scholarship Program: Twelve recipients will receive a $5,000 scholarship toward law school tuition and an invitation to attend the 2026 USLAW NETWORK Annual Client Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, in September. Watch a brief video to learn more about the scholarship program. Completed application and related materials are due to scholarship@uslaw.org by March 20.

Know Your RightsRefer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210).  The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
