CDO Spring Interview Program Interview Availability: When you submit an application, please add classes or any other conflicts to your calendar in LEO for the scheduled interview date. The CDO will presume you have no conflicts if nothing is entered into your calendar. See Dean Deol's 1/9 email for instructions on how to add conflicts to your calendar.
1L and 2Ls: 2026 Loyola Chicago Patent Law Interview Program: June 4-5, 2026, Virtual: This two day interview program held each year brings together patent law employers and law students from across the country to interview for summer associate positions and post-graduate employment. Students are not required to be patent bar eligible to register, but many employers require patent bar eligibility to apply for positions. Register by February 27, 2026 at 9:59pm.
3Ls: Live Scan Fingerprint Consultant: February 12, 12:00pm-1:00pm, MPAA 210: A live scan consultant will be on campus to provide live scan fingerprinting to prepare for Applications for Determination of Moral Character for the California Bar. See Dean Kyle Jones' 1/26 email for more information.
The South Asian Bar Association-SoCal: Law Unboxed: Rethinking Legal Careers: February 4, 5:30pm-8:30pm, Nixon Peabody, Downtown LA: Join attorneys from big law, government, startups, nonprofits, and beyond for a candid conversation about what legal careers really look like. RSVP for the event.
SCHOLARSHIPS & WRITING COMPETITIONS
Daily Journal & Lawyers' Mutual Scholarship Program for First-Generation Law Students: This scholarship program awards a $5,000 first-place scholarship, $2,500 second-place scholarship, $1,500 third-place scholarship, and seven (7) $500 honorable mentions. 3Ls: Carrie Menkel-Meadow and Robert Meadow Public Interest Scholarship: Students who intend to pursue a career in public interest law upon graduation and are in good academic standing are invited to apply for this one-time award of up to $10,000. See Nasreen Zia's 1/29 email for application instructions. Apply by Monday, February 9 at 4:00pm.
The College of Labor and Employment Lawyers: 2026 Annual Law Student Writing Competition: This writing competition is for all students, not only those currently taking labor and employment law courses. Prize are $3,000 first place, $1,000 second place, and $500 third place. First place will be a guest at the Annual Induction Dinner for recognition. Complete rules are available here. Submissions due June 14 at 9:00pm.

UC Irvine Law Review: Submit Notes and Comments: UC Irvine Law Review is soliciting student notes and comments for the upcoming Issues 17.1 & 17.2. See the 1/16 email forwarded by Dr. J for more information and submission requirements. Submit your note or comment by February 20 at 11:59pm.
1Ls: Contact your primary career counselor to pick up a copy of your transcript. Transcripts will be available in the CDO until Friday, March 13.
SCHOLARSHIPS & WRITING COMPETITIONS
USLAW NETWORK Law School Scholarship Program: Supports eligible law students who have financial need and a demonstrated commitment to serving their communities as they pursue their academic and professional goals. Each recipient will receive a $5,000 scholarship toward law school tuition and an invitation to attend the 2026 USLAW NETWORK Annual Client Conference in Boston, Massachusetts, in September. The program’s scholarship selection committee will select and recognize 12 recipients. A brief video about the scholarship program can be viewed here. Each applicant must submit a completed application and all requested support materials on or before March 20, 2026, to scholarship@uslaw.org.
2026 Dan Bradley Summer Fellowship: This fellowship is offered annually by the Legal Aid Association of California (LAAC) to support law students who want to spend their summer working at a LAAC member legal aid organization. LAAC will be offering four awards of up to $12,075 each for student who wants to pursue a career in public interest law and who are interested in spending their summer working on a rural or consumer rights issue. Please review the application along with its guidelines here: Dan Bradley Fellowship Application. All materials are due by Tuesday, March 31st.

National District Attorneys Association 2026 National Prosecutor Job Fair: January 31-February 1; Washington, D.C: View a list of participating employers and register here.
2Ls: 2026 Kentucky Department of Public Advocacy Career Fest: February 28, 2026, Louisville, KY: During the Career Fest, participants will have the opportunity to learn more about the KY DPA and interview with regional leaders from across the state. Early employment offers for positions beginning in August 2027 will be extended shortly after the event. Priority application deadline is January 15. Selected students will be invited to attend with all-expenses-paid.

Continuing Education of the Bar (CEB) Academic Solutions: CEB, a nonprofit program of the University of California, is California’s leading provider of legal research and practice guidance. Through its AccessLaw program, law students receive free access to CEB’s full suite of resources, with an additional 18-months of access after graduation. CEB offers trusted practice guides, sample forms, workflows, and legal research tools across 30+ practice areas, developed with contributions from over 1,200 California attorneys and judges. These resources help bridge the gap between law school and practice, giving you the same tools attorneys rely on every day. Sign up with code IRX26 (*note that the code has been updated from the previous SLATE issue) to get started.
Know Your Rights: Refer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210). The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
