1Ls: Summer Associate Hub IP Virtual Interview Program: January 30, 2026: This program is open to current 1Ls (Class of 2028) with a technical degree (based on USPTO Patent Bar eligibility) interested in practicing patent law and seeking summer associate openings for 1L Summer in 2026 and/or 2L Summer in 2027. Register here ASAP, as registration is on a rolling basis.
UCDC Law Information Session: October 14, 12pm – 1pm, EDU 1111: Law students have the opportunity to spend a semester in Washington, D.C., getting academic credit while working full-time at a government agency, non-profit or judicial placement. See LEO for details and to RSVP for the information session. Pizza will be provided for registered students. Director Nicole Lehtman is also available to meet by appointment.
Money and Your Career: Legal, Salaries, Taxes, and Benefits, and Five Habits of Financially Successful Lawyers Workshop: Wednesday, October 15, 2025, EDU 1131: Whether you plan to accept a position in public service or a large law firm, open your own practice, or pursue another professional path, it's important to understand more than just your starting salary. This workshop offers a financial analysis of various legal professions and helps you comprehend the impact of your employment decisions, including salary, benefits, taxes, cost of living, and more. Lunch will be provided to students who RSVP here.
10th Annual Special Needs Planning Symposium - Trisha Friedeberg Scholarship: February 5-7, 2026; Meritage Resort & Spa in Napa, CA. The Trisha Friedeberg Scholarship offers full financial support to attend the symposium. Apply by Friday, November 21. Interested applicants should email the following materials to Kevin@Urbatsch.com:
- A resume or CV
- A one-page personal statement describing their interest in special needs or conservatorship law and why they wish to attend the Symposium
- One letter of recommendation from a professor or legal professional familiar with their qualifications

Public Law Center's (PLC) 2025 Halloween Bash: October 24, 6:00pm-10:00pm; Strawberry Farms, Irvine: PLC is hosting their 13th annual Halloween Bash fundraiser to support free legal services for Orange County residents in need. UCI Law students receive tickets at a discounted price on a first come, first serve basis. Review PLC website for additional information regarding the event.
Mohannad and Rana Malas Lecture in Islamic Legal Studies: November 5, 5:00pm-6:00pm; UCI Law Library, California Room: The Mohannad and Rana Malas Lecture in Islamic Legal Studies presents "Law Between Self and Society: Collective Duties in Islamic Law-Past, Present, and Future" with Professor Adnan Zulfiqar. 3Ls: ASP Bar Exam Equity Fund: Refer to ASP's 10/1 email for details on how to receive four complimentary bar prep courses. Submissions are due by Friday, October 31 by 5:00pm.
1Ls & 2Ls: UCI Law Review Write-On Update: After assessing the law review's pilot program last year, the Law Review Executive Board has decided to revert the timing of the Law Review Application process to our original write-on time. As such, the write-on will now be conducted at the end of the Spring semester rather than the Fall semester. Similarly, the information session about the Law Review Write-On process will be conducted next semester.

Become an Admissions Ambassador: Ready to help mentor the next generation of law school students? Admissions Ambassadors meet with prospective students to answer questions about what law school is like and share their experience from the application process. Whether it's volunteering for a panel, a tour, or a law fair, your expertise as a current law student can make the difference for a prospective one. Complete this form by October 31 to apply.

Know Your Rights: Refer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210). The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
