Justice Stephen K. Tamura Foundation Scholarship: The Justice Stephen K. Tamura Foundation is offering two $2,500 scholarships to UC Irvine Law students who overcome personal and financial obstacles to pursue their education. Refer to Nasreen Zia's 9/9 email for essay and application details. Apply by Thursday, September 18 at 4:00pm.

1Ls & 2Ls: Mandatory PILF Donate a Day’s Pay Training: September 15, 12:00pm-1:00pm; EDU 1111: This training is mandatory for students interested in receiving a stipend for Summer 2026. Contact lawpilf@lawnet.uci.edu if you are unable to attend.
Orange County Trial Lawyers Association (OCTLA) Membership: OCTLA offers free memberships to law students looking to be more involved with the Orange County legal community. Membership provides access to exclusive events, networking and mentoring opportunities, and more. Review the OCTLA Membership page for details.
Orange County Bar Association (OCBA) Annual Jurist Spotlight: September 29, 4:30pm-6:30pm; Virtual: OCBA Education Committee presents Justice David Souter as this year's OCBA Annual Jurist Spotlight. This event is free to law students. Advance registration is required. Register here by September 24.

Update Canvas Settings for Class Email Communication and Announcements: Refer to Marisela Galindo's 8/25 email for instructions on how to update your canvas account to avoid missing any important communication.
1Ls: Resume Review: Refer to Dean Deol's 9/4 email for information on how to submit your resume. Submit updated resumes by Monday, October 6 at 5:00pm.
2Ls & 3Ls: Interviewing Reminders: Wear professional business attire to both in-person and virtual interviews. Review the CDO's Resumes, Cover Letters, and Other Application Materials Workshop Handout for guidance on which documents to bring to an interview.

CAREER ENGAGEMENT OPPORTUNITIES
American Arbitration Association (AAA) 2025 Diverse Student ADR Summit: November 1-2: New York: AAA is now accepting applications for their 2025 Diverse Student ADR Summit to learn more about careers in arbitration and mediation. Selected students will receive a $1,300 stipend to help cover cost travel and lodging expenses. Apply for summit by September 25.
Fellowships at Auschwitz for the Study of Professional Ethics (FASPE) 2026 Law Program: May 22-June 5: FASPE is now accepting applications for their two-week fellowship program that will examine the actions and choices of German lawyers in enabling Nazi politics. Program is fully funded and will take place in Germany and Poland. Review FASPE website for application requirements and process. Apply for fellowship by Sunday, January 4, 2026.
STUDENT INVOLVEMENT
Moot Court Competition Sign Ups: Refer to Dr. J's 9/2 email for the Moot Court sign up form and additional information. The form allows you to specify your partner or be paired randomly. Teams should confirm that both partners want to join the competition and should only submit one form. Sign up by Friday, September 12 at 5:00pm.

California Daily Journal: All law students can receive free digital access to the Daily Journal. Refer to the Daily Journal user guide for instructions on how to access subscription.
Cal Lawyer: All law students can receive free access to career focused subscription tailored for law students from the Daily Journal. Refer to the Daily Journal user guide for instructions on how to access subscription.
Know Your Rights: Refer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210). The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
