New Announcements and Deadlines

National Law Students Workers' Rights Conference (NLSWRC): Peggy Browning Fund is holding their annual Workers' Rights Conference in Baltimore, MD on October 17 & 18. Scholarships are available to help cover the cost of attendance, travel, and more. Apply for a scholarship here by September 1, 2025. 

Save the Date: CalFresh Enrollment Party: August 28, 9:00am-4:00pm, Law Library: The Basic Needs Center is hosting their CalFresh Summer Enrollment Party, which is a single-day event where students can submit their CalFresh application AND complete their interview on the same day. Students can have their CalFresh application processed within one day, rather than the typical 30-day processing time. If approved, students can receive up to $292 per month for groceries. Appointments are required for the event. Register for a CalFresh application appointment. Email calfresh@uci.edu if you have any questions. Students must meet ALL of the following special requirements to be eligible:

  • Must currently reside in Orange County.
  • Must not have an open case (new applicants only).
    • If you have an open case and would like support, please reach out to calfresh@uci.edu.
  • Must meet the income limit (see "CalFresh Income Guidelines" for guidance).
  • Must not have the 120 (quarterly), 135 or the 5/7-day meal plans if living on-campus.
Announcement Reminders

Fall 2025 Externship Credit Deadline - August 1: Additional details can be found in Anna Davis’ email sent on 7/24.

Orange County Lawyer Magazine - Student Externship Position: The Orange County Bar Association is seeking 2-3 students to extern with the Orange County Lawyer Magazine. The position is a 6-month commitment for 10 hours a month. Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis. Review LEO posting for more information on eligibility and submission requirements.

Know Your Rights:  Please refer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210).  The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
