New Announcements and Deadlines

2026 Skadden Fellowship ApplicationThe Skadden Foundation awards two-year fellowships to recent law school graduates who want to work in the public interest. Fellowship applicants propose a project that addresses an unmet civil need of people living in poverty in the U.S. in partnership with a non-profit organization of their choosing. For more information visit the Skadden Foundation website. Applications are due by September 19, 2025. If you are interested in applying for a Skadden or other project-based fellowship, such as Equal Justice Works or Justice Catalyst, please make an appointment with Leslie Parrish, Assistant Director of Career Services, via LEO, or email Leslie at lparrish@law.uci.edu as soon as possible.

Justice Catalyst: Jonathan W. Cuneo COSAL/Justice Catalyst Fellowship: Justice Catalyst and COSAL are offering a one-year, potentially renewable, antitrust litigation fellowship for graduating law students to enable new lawyers to pursue antitrust litigation as a crucial tool for accountability within the U.S. legal system, with a focus on expanding pathways to the profession. Application opens June 15. Review website for additional information.

UC Irvine School of Law 15th Annual Supreme Court Term in Review: July 8, 3:30pm-5:00pm: Join us in-person or online for this exciting annual program reviewing the Supreme Court’s key cases decided in the most recent term. Advanced registration is required.

Virginia Journal of International Law - Accepting Student Submissions: The Virginia Journal of International Law is accepting notes submissions. Notes submissions must be between 10,000–15,000 words, including footnotes. Email submissions should consist of two documents: (1) a word document that contains the student’s piece, including its title and table of contents but no identifying information; and (2) a word document with the author's name, law school, graduation year, email, phone number, and the title of the piece. Submissions should be sent to vjilnotes@gmail.com with the subject line “Summer Notes Pool 25.” More information as to submission guidelines may be found here. Please do not hesitate to contact Netra Rastogi, Notes Development Editor, at sfv3hw@virginia.edu with any questions. Deadline for submission is June 30, 2025 at 5PM EST.

Announcement Reminders

2025-2026 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA): Tuition and fees for the Fall 2025 semester will be assessed the first week of July. Please renew your 2025-2026 FAFSA application as soon as possible if you plan to borrow loans for the 2025-2026 Academic Year. See Nasreen Zia's 5/30 email for additional information.

UC Irvine's Anteaters in Law and Law Association Orange County Summer Social: June 17, 6:00pm - 8:30pm; Irvine, CA: Reconnect and make new connections with legal Anteaters in a relaxed setting. Light refreshments will be served. RSVP is required for the event located at Hangar 24 (17877 Von Karman Ave, Unit 110, Irvine, CA 92614).

Pre-Law Support Grant Program for Student Organizations: Deadline to apply is June 16: The Dean’s Office invites student organizations to submit proposals for grant funding. The grants are designed to support law student organizations that are interested in enhancing the school’s recruiting and pathway program efforts to mentor undergraduate students from first-generation and underrepresented backgrounds, who have indicated some interest in legal education. If you are in a student organization and interested in this opportunity, please tell your organization’s leader to see the 5/19 email sent to them from Debbie Mondares for more details and the link to apply.

Military Spouse J.D Network (MSJDN) MembershipThe MSJDN is a national bar association supporting military spouses in the legal profession through advocacy, mentorship, career tools, and a strong peer network. Student membership allows access to job board, volunteer opportunities, and annual career conference. Review MSJDN website for additional information regarding membership and programs offered.

Know Your Rights:  Please refer to the information in this Know Your Rights guide provided by UCOP for immigrant legal services. Copies have been posted on the student bulletin boards within the Law School and pocket/wallet-sized cards are available for pickup in the Student Affairs and Student Services Suite (MPAA 210).  The suite also has red cards available from the Immigrant Legal Resource Center.
