New Announcements and Deadlines

UCI Mental Health Resource Fair, Tuesday, February 27, Student Center - Pacific Ballroom, 11:00am to 2:00pm: Engage with qualified experts from various campus departments and external services to learn about mental health care. De-stress with therapy dogs, canvas painting, guided yoga, and raffles and prizes!

Women Lawyers of Los Angeles (WLALA): Honorable Ruth Bader Ginsburg Scholarship: Students who demonstrate a commitment to addressing issues impacting women, children, minorities, or other historically marginalized groups are encouraged to apply by April 30 for a chance to receive an award around $7,000. Learn more here.

3Ls: California ChangeLawyers: Next Gen Scholarship: This opportunity is for next gen students taking the California Bar Exam for the first time in 2024 with a commitment to practicing law in California. In addition to a $5,000 cash reward, scholars will gain access to exclusive ChangeLawyers programming, bar exam coaching, mentorship, and bar prep discounts. ASU Sandra Day O'Connor College of Law: D.C. Leadership Academy, Washington, D.C., June 4 through August 6: This in-person program offers weekly training sessions on topics including securing D.C. employment, mastering policy memo writing, and honing networking and interview skills. Students interning or working in Washington, D.C. this summer may apply by May 1.

1Ls: American Bar Association's Section of Legal Education SurveyThe Council of the Section of Legal Education and the Admissions to the Bar of the ABA would like to understand the composition of UCI Law's student body and of first-year law students nationally to enforce its standards and to provide accurate consumer information. Click here for FAQs and complete the 5-minute survey by March 1. 

3Ls: ACC Southern California Diversity Scholarship: ACC will provide financial assistance to students taking a California Bar Exam review course who are experiencing financial hardship. Apply by April 5. Details and the application form can be found here

Southern California Chinese Lawyers Association (SCCLA): Join SCCLA as a Law Student Representative! Serve as the Board’s liaison with local law schools, gain insights into bar association operations, make meaningful connections, and help plan events. Applications are due March 24 by 5pm.

UCI Womxn's Center for Success: EmpowerUs Summit, Friday, March 1, The Cove @ UCI Beall Applied Innovation, 10:00am to 3:00pm: This summit will provide mentoring opportunities, an inspirational keynote speaker, and chances to develop strong networks. Session topics will focus on wellness, intersecting identities, and personal and professional development. Register by March 25.

NALP JD Advantage Career Week, March 5-7, 9:30am to 11:00am: Explore diverse career paths beyond traditional law practice. This virtual program will highlight a variety of career paths featuring panelists discussing how they leverage their legal training and deliver services. RSVP to attend sessions on sports/entertainment, health law/pharma, and risk management/emerging tech/AI.

Institute for Justice (IJ): Spring Legal Intensive: Saturday, March 23, 8:30am to 6:00pm, Austin, TX: This training program aims to equip students with practitioner skills necessary for success in litigation while providing insights into IJ's issue areas. Students will deepen their understanding of litigation and explore advocacy for constitutional rights on both state and federal levels, with a focus on implementing these skills in their home state. Participants will have their travel and lodging expenses covered and are invited to an informal reception on Friday, March 22. Visit here for more details and to apply by Thursday, February 29.

1Ls and 2Ls: 2024 Loyola Chicago Patent Law Interview Program, July 18 and 19: Patent law employers will conduct virtual interviews for summer associate positions. See LEO for more details and register by March 27.
