1L Mock Interview Program: The Career Development Office will conduct mock interviews the week of January 30th thru February 3rd via zoom. Reserve a timeslot in LEO by Friday, January 27th at 2:00pm

Law Students of Color Law Student Ambassadors Spring 2023: The Lawyers of Color Foundation is currently recruiting minority law students to serve as ambassadors for the Spring Semester 2023! Ambassadors will have the opportunity to network with public interest law leaders, law firms partners, as well as corporate in-house counsel. Please complete this short contact form by Wednesday, January 25.

Orange County Women Lawyers Association: OCWLA is currenlty looking for a UCI Law student representative. OCWLA offers opportunities for student representatives to network recently barred, as well as experienced attorneys; learn more about different sectors of the law; attend monthly board meetings; and much more. Ms. JD's National Women Law Students' Organization (NWLSO) will be hosting the Leadership Academic Intensive on March 17th-18th at the Howard University School of Law in Washington, D.C. This intensive will feature impactful leadership workshops, inspiring panel discussions, and an empowering keynote conversation. The deadline to apply is January 31st. 

Disparities in Advancement of API Women in the Law: Evidence & Action Planning: Brought to you by the State Bar of California, California Asian Pacific American Judges Association (CAPAJA) and California Asian Pacific American Bar Association (Cal-APABA) on February 9th 12:00pm to 1:15pm via zoom. AccessLex Institute Center for Education and Financial Capability provides the following opportunities and resources to help you as you work to evaluate your financial options this year:

  1. Register for your free account at AskEDNA.AccessLex.org and complete the course in your year 1L, 2L, 3L. This earns you scholarship entries for the $330,000 AccessLex Institute gives away to law students each year, just for learning more about their personal finances. That is $5,000 twice a year to 12 students, and once a year--$25,000 to six students, and $40,000 to three students.
  2. Check out the MAX by AccessLex Hannah R. Arterian Memorial Scholarship. Annually, one 1L MAX participant who completes the eight-part Financial Foundation course and attends at least two MAX events will be automatically entered to win a $50,000 scholarship toward their remaining law school tuition. The first drawing of the Scholarship will take place on May 1, 2023. 

Milestone's annual $10,000 Trial LawHER Scholarship: Application window for this scholarship is now open! Rising 3L female law students inspiring to become plaintiff trial lawyers are welcome to apply before the May 1st deadline.

National District Attorneys Association Job Fair: Students who have a passion for advocating for the rights of all involved in the criminal justice system are encouraged to attend on January 29th-30th at Hotel Washington in Washington, DC. Registration and additional information can be found HERE

Orange County Bar Association's Creating a Prison to University Pipeline: Prison Education and the New "Clean Slate" Laws: On Tuesday, February 7th at 4:30pm to 7:00pm in EDU 1111, this Continuing Legal Education (CLE) will provide an overview  of LIFTED (Leveraging Inspiring Futures Through Education), a new University of California, Irvine initiative offering a Bachelor of Arts degree (BA) to incarcerated students and will address legal policy issues facing incarcerated students, in particular, access to federal financial aid in and after prison. Please register to attend.

A Free Career Program for Native American Students: Cutting Sign to the Legal Profession: Native American students are welcome to register and attend this free program on February 17th-18th at the University of Utah, hosted by the universities of Idaho, Utah, and Washington. Students will attend a series of panels regarding firms, public interest jobs, non-traditional jobs, government positions, and judicial clerkships. Students will participate in interviews with various employers, and 1Ls will receive focused support to help hone their resumes and cover letters. Current details can found be found HERE.

"You Are Not Alone" - Daniel's Inn 28th Annual Conference:  Prominent attorneys and judges will share their experiences in carrying out their faith in their practices and courtrooms. This non-denominational Christian conference will be held on Saturday, February 25, 2023, at St. Joseph's Center in Orange, CA. Click HERE for full details about this event.
