Background:

Sean Stegmaier is an attorney in the Tax Department at The Irvine Company, which is responsible for three interrelated functions: tax planning; tax compliance; and property tax. Sean works with other corporate departments and operational divisions of the Company in the planning and implementation of transactions as well as evaluating the tax-efficiency of day-to-day operations of a privately-held diversified real estate company. Prior to joining The Irvine Company, Sean was a tax attorney with O’Melveny & Myers LLP, where he specialized in executive compensation and employee benefits matters. While at O’Melveny & Myers, Sean served as Chair of the Summer Associate Program and sat on the Employment Committee. 

Sean received his J.D. from the Chapman University Dale E. Fowler School of Law, graduating summa cum laude with an emphasis in Taxation (2006). He went on to receive his LL.M in Taxation from the Georgetown University Law Center, where he was admitted as a Graduate Tax Scholar and graduated with distinction (2007).
