  • Gideon's Promise Fellowship: UCI Law is now accepting applications for the Class of 2017 Gideon’s Promise Fellowship! The Fellowship is part of the Gideon’s Promise Law School Partnership Project (“LSPP”). The LSPP gives law graduates a unique opportunity to join a public defender office in the Deep South that is working to improve criminal justice and transform indigent defense. If you are interested in this opportunity, the UCI Law Gideon’s Promise Fellowship application is now live here. Applications are due no later than noon on Monday, October 3, 2016. Applicants will be notified of the Committee’s decision no later than October 14, 2016. Please contact Tiffany Tsao at ttsao@law.uci.edu with any questions.

  • Fall Interview Program: The 2016 Fall Interview Program is underway on Symplicity. Employers will schedule interviews with qualified candidates at UCI Law, by phone/skype, or at employer offices throughout September and October. You can access the session through the OCI module on the left side of your screen, and then select the "UCI Law 2016 Fall Interview Program" from the Session dropdown menu. Some upcoming deadlines include:

CDO Workshops
  • California Attorney General Honors Program Information Session: September 21 (Wednesday), 12:00pm - 1:00pm, LAW 4850. Join real-life attorney's from the California Attorney General's Office as they describe the Honors Program and application process for 3L applicants. The Attorney General’s Honors Program is a highly competitive, two-year program for recent law school graduates and newly admitted lawyers committed to public service.   • Navy JAG Information Session: September 21 (Wednesday), 12:00pm - 1:00pm, LAW 3500. LT. Ryan P. Healy will be visiting UCI Law for an informal information session to speak with students who might be interested in applying to the U.S. Navy JAG Corps. The mission of the U.S. Navy JAG Corps is to provide solutions, from a military perspective, to legal issues involving military operations, organization, and personnel, wherever and whenever such solutions are required, with primary focus on operations, accountability, Sailor legal readiness, and Navy legal readiness.
  • Private Sector Direct Service Panel: September 22 (Thursday), LAW 4750Private sector direct service providers include small firms and solo practitioners that work with individuals and small businesses in a variety of legal contexts, such as criminal defense, trusts & estates, immigration, and family law. This informational session will focus on the hiring process for these firms, the nature of their work, and how to prepare for careers in these fields. Please RSVP on Symplicity.
  • LAIPLA Road Show: September 29 (Thursday), 5:30pm - 7:00pm, EDU 1131The Los Angeles Intellectual Property Law Association (LAIPLA) will be visiting UCI Law School to discuss careers in intellectual property, including patent, trademark and copyright law. Experienced IP practitioners with law firm and in-house experience will be panelists for the event. Students will have an opportunity to ask questions at the conclusion of the speakers’ remarks. For anyone interested in learning more about LAIPLA and the Association’s membership, this will be an invaluable opportunity. Pizza and refreshments will be provided! Please RSVP on Symplicity.
