Announcements
  • LEO (Legal Employment Opportunities): Available Monday, August 20. We heard you! It is time to replace Symplicity with a tool that provides modern, streamlined, and effective job search capabilities. LEO will be up and running with access to students on Monday! Stay tuned for more information on how to access LEO and say goodbye to Symplicity before it goes away forever.
  • Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair: October 26 (Friday) to October 27 (Saturday), Washington, DC. This is the largest national public interest legal career fair in the county, bringing together more than 175 public interest employers from around the country for interviews, workshops, and networking.  A list of registered employers can be found here. UCI Law has a limited budget to provide small travel stipends for students attending this conference.  To apply for a travel stipend, you must email Jasminder Deol by 12pm on Friday, August 31 with the following: A short statement explaining your commitment to public interest work (250 words or less); Your goal for the trip; and a list of employers and your plan to meet/network with them.
  • National Law Students Workers' Rights Conference Hosted by The Peggy Browning Fund: October 12 (Friday) to October 13 (Saturday), Maryland. Any student who would like to attend this conference must email Jasminder Deol by 12pm on Tuesday, August 21 with the following: A short statement explaining your interest in workers’ rights (250 words or less); Your goal for attending this conference; and a resume.  Students may be eligible to receive travel reimbursements from The Peggy Browning Fund. CDO Workshops
  • Path to Public Service - Government Hiring Programs: August 23 (Thursday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, EDU 1131. Work for the government! This informational session for 2Ls and 3Ls will focus on Federal and State Summer and Post-Graduate Honors Programs and other avenues to entry-level government positions. We will de-mystify the application processes (from "exams" to interviews), discuss where to find opportunities, timelines, and what makes an applicant desirable.
  • How to Hustle - Maximizing Success in the Legal Job Market: August 28 (Tuesday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, EDU 1131. This interactive workshop for 2Ls and 3Ls seeking summer 2019 and post-graduate employment will cover the essential components of a comprehensive and strategic career action plan to enhance professional success in the private and public sectors. Topics to be discussed include how to formulate a career plan, research employers, conduct informational interviews, and submit "cold" applications.

  • Latina Lawyers Bar Association Career Summit: August 18 (Saturday), 9:00am-4:00pm, Loyola Law School. This summit will include panel sessions, lunch, and a closing reception. There is a reduced ticket price of $25 for students. For more information and to register, visit here.  
  • Patent Drafting 101: August 19 (Sunday), 9:00am-4:00pm, The Cove at UCI. This one-day workshop will focus on patent drafting and is taught by Robert D. Fish, the owner of Fish IP Law, LLP and reaches patent drafting at UCI Law School. This is a hands-on workshop that requires bringing a laptop.   • Workforce Recruitment Program: Registration Opens Monday, August 27. This free recruitment and referral program connects federal and private sector employers nationwide with highly motivated students with disabilities. Visit here to register under the Student Registration button. Registration ends Monday, October 15. 
  • Law Enforcement and First Responders Career Fair: September 29 (Saturday), 10:00am-1:00pm, Los Angeles. The FBI's Los Angeles Field Office is hosting this fair that will showcase first responder and law enforcement careers at the local, state and federal level (not law specific).
