  • 1L Resumes: Deadline to submit the first draft of your resume is Tuesday, October 31. Send drafts to careers@law.uci.edu.  
  • Fall Interview ProgramGovernment, Public Interest, and Private Practice employers are ready to receive application materials on Symplicity. Employers will schedule interviews with qualified candidates at UCI Law, by phone/skype, or at employer offices throughout the fall. You can access the session through the OCI module on the left side of your screen, and then select the "UCI Law 2017 Fall Interview Program" from the Session dropdown menu. Immediate Noon deadlines include:

  • 2L TranscriptsIf you are a 2L and have not picked up CDO complementary copies of your official transcript, please come by and do so! Transcripts will be shredded at the end of the semester.

  • Pre-Huddle - Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair: October 23 (Monday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, EDU 1000. All students planning to attend the 2017 EJW Conference and Career Fair in Washington DC should stop in to gain valuable insight, chat about the conference, and learn how to access UCI Law support available throughout the career fair.
  • Keys to Job Search Resiliency and Success: October 25 (Wednesday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, MPAA 408. Feeling unmotivated, discouraged or stalled in your job search? This workshop, designed for 2Ls and 3Ls, will help you get unstuck! Gain practical tools to focus your search as well as build resiliency and well-being throughout law school and beyond.   • 1L Law Firm Diversity Applications- Lessons Learned: November 1 (Wednesday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, EDU 1131. 1L Diversity Applications to Law Firms are some of the most challenging applications to prepare. Through a series of questions to a panel of upper classman and alums we will shed light on the application process and what it takes to be successful. The program is open to any 1L interested in learning more about this path. RSVP on Symplicity.
  • In-House Counsel Career Day: November 1 (Wednesday), 6:00pm-8:00pm, Chapman Law School. The Association of Corporate Counsel of Southern California in combination with the four OC law schools is hosting a panel discussion and networking mixer for law students to learn about in-house career paths. Please RSVP by Friday, October 20 to Beth Maoui

  • Orange County - At the Vanguard of the Civil Rights Movement: October 14 (Saturday), 9:00am-11:30am, Chapman Law School. The panel presentation will be moderated by the Honorable Andrew J. Guilford and include other judges as presenters. This informative event is an opportunity to network and is free for law students.  Register here
  • State Bar IP Section/IP Institute: November 1-3 (Wednesday-Friday) - Deadline October 15 (Sunday), Newport Beach. This opportunity is for 2L and 3L students. The program allows law students to attend the IP Section's annual IP Institute and report on the conference and network with potential employers.   • Orange County Asian American Bar Association - Speed Networking Event: October 18 (Wednesday), 6:00pm-8:00pm, Newport Beach. This networking event is open to all attorneys regardless of firm size. Tickets ($28) are limited and include appetizers and one drink. Register here
  • Constitutional Rights Foundation Annual Benefit - Law Student Volunteers Needed: October 26 (Thursday), 6:00pm, Costa Mesa. The Constitutional Rights Foundation, Orange County (“CFC-OC”) is a local non-profit educational organization dedicated to promoting civic literacy, youth leadership, and career awareness among Orange County teens. The CFC-OC is holding an Annual Benefit at the Center Club in Costa Mesa with food, beverages and a silent auction.The CFC-OC seeks 4-5 law student volunteers to help set-up or assist at the registration table between 12:30 p.m. – 2:00 p.m. or 2:00 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. (Students do NOT need to commit to the entire time slot). Volunteers will be provided free tickets to attend the Annual Benefit. The event is a terrific opportunity to meet judges and attorneys from the Orange County legal community. Interested students should contact Caleb Sullivan no later than 12:00pm on Monday, October 16.
  • 40th Annual ABA Forum on Franchising: October 18-21 (Wednesday-Saturday), Palm Desert. This forum will offer twenty-four workshops focusing on various aspects of franchise law and many other events. It is a great opportunity to learn about franchising and network with the top practitioners in the field. Registration will be waived by the ABA for law students who wish to attend.   • Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite: October 19-22 (Thursday-Sunday), Yosemite. This conference is recognized as the largest and most prestigious gathering in California of leaders in environmental, land use, and natural resources law. For more information, visit here
  • The Tax Institute at H&R Block Speaking Engagement: October 26 (Thursday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, MPAA 120. The Tax Institute will be hiring multiple Tax Researchers for the upcoming tax season.   • Orange County Asian American Bar Association Mentor and Mentee Program: Deadline October 31. The OCAABA Pipeline Committee is accepting applications for its 2017-2018 School Year mentorship program. The mentorship program includes several social events throughout the year for local OC law students to meet up with local attorneys in a casual setting for mentoring opportunities.   • Prosecutors to Change the World - Fall Event Series: November 1 (Wednesday), 6:30pm-8:00pm, Loyola Law School. Prosecutors can and should be vehicles for social change. The Public Rights Project aims to spark an important conversation with this 4-part series. More information will be provided as the event approaches. 
  • Federal Bar Association - Behind the Bench, An Inside Look at Our Federal Judges and Their Courthouse: November 7 (Tuesday), 5:15pm-7:15pm, Santa Ana. This event will be hosted by the District Judges, Magistrate Judges and Bankruptcy Judges of Southern Division of the U.S. District Court, Central District of California.
