  • Fall Interview ProgramGovernment, Public Interest, and Private Practice employers are ready to receive application materials on Symplicity. Employers will schedule interviews with qualified candidates at UCI Law, by phone/skype, or at employer offices throughout the fall. You can access the session through the OCI module on the left side of your screen, and then select the "UCI Law 2017 Fall Interview Program" from the Session dropdown menu. Immediate Noon deadlines include:

  • Keys to Job Search Resiliency and Success: October 25 (Wednesday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, MPAA 408. Feeling unmotivated, discouraged or stalled in your job search? This workshop, designed for 2Ls and 3Ls, will help you get unstuck! Gain practical tools to focus your search as well as build resiliency and well-being throughout law school and beyond.   • Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair Huddle: October 23 (Monday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, EDU 1000. All students planning to attend the 2017 EJW Conference and Career Fair in Washington DC should stop in to gain valuable insight, chat about the conference, and learn how to access the UCI Law support available throughout the career fair.

  • IP West 2017 Conference: October 11-12 (Saturday-Sunday), Long Beach. The ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law is holding its inaugural West Coast conference. This is a great opportunity to learn about IP law and network with practitioners.  Speakers include in-house counsel from Airbnb, Apple, Google, Hulu, Intel, Microsoft, and Viacom and members of the bench including Judge Andrew Guilford (C.D. Cal.), and Judge Marilyn Huff (S.D. Cal.). The full schedule and registration form can be found here
  • Legal and Ethical Dilemmas Surrounding Reproductive Technologies: October 13 (Friday), 11:45am-1:30pm, Irvine. Reproductive technologies raise novel legal and ethical issues regarding property rights, surrogacy and egg donation, and family law disputes. Judith Daar, author of The New Eugenics: Selective Breeding in an Era of Reproductive Technologies (Yale University Press 2017), will provide an overview of the legal, medical, and ethical dilemmas surrounding access to infertility care in the United States. The ethics of assisted reproductive technologies will also be considered. The presentation will include a catered lunch. Deadline to register is Tuesday, October 10.
  • Orange County - At the Vanguard of the Civil Rights Movement: October 14 (Saturday), 9:00am-11:30am, Chapman Law School. The panel presentation will be moderated by the Honorable Andrew J. Guilford and include other judges as presenters. This informative event is an opportunity to network and is free for law students.  Register here
  • State Bar IP Section/IP Institute: November 1-3 (Wednesday-Friday) - Deadline October 15 (Sunday), Newport Beach. This opportunity is for 2L and 3L students. The program allows law students to attend the IP Section's annual IP Institute and report on the conference and network with potential employers.   • 2017 Los Angeles K-Move Job Fair: October 17 (Tuesday), 1:00pm-6:00pm, Los Angeles. This job fair, sponsored by the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency, will feature over 35 companies focused in accounting, law, construction, and fashion. To RSVP, send your resume here by Saturday, September 30 for an opportunity to have a pre-arranged interview with companies. 
  • 40th Annual ABA Forum on Franchising: October 18-21 (Wednesday-Saturday), Palm Desert. This forum will offer twenty-four workshops focusing on various aspects of franchise law and many other events. It is a great opportunity to learn about franchising and network with the top practitioners in the field. Registration will be waived by the ABA for law students who wish to attend.   • Environmental Law Conference at Yosemite: October 19-22 (Thursday-Sunday), Yosemite. This conference is recognized as the largest and most prestigious gathering in California of leaders in environmental, land use, and natural resources law. For more information, visit here
  • Prosecutors to Change the World - Fall Event Series: November 1 (Wednesday), 6:30pm-8:00pm, Loyola Law School. Prosecutors can and should be vehicles for social change. The Public Rights Project aims to spark an important conversation with this 4-part series. More information will be provided as the event approaches.
