  • Fall Interview Program: We are pleased to announce the launch of the 2017 Fall Interview Program! Government, Public Interest, and Private Practice employers are ready to receive application materials on Symplicity. Employers will schedule interviews with qualified candidates at UCI Law, by phone/skype, or at employer offices throughout the fall. You can access the session through the OCI module on the left side of your screen, and then select the "UCI Law 2017 Fall Interview Program" from the Session dropdown menu. Immediate deadlines include: 
    • 2Ls: Young Minds Advocacy Project (San Francisco, CA) - Friday, Sept. 8
    • 2Ls: Los Angeles District Attorney's Office (Norwalk, CA) - Monday, Sept. 11

CDO Workshops
  • How to Navigate Private Sector Resources: September 13 (Wednesday), 12:00pm - 1:00pm, MPAA 408. This workshop will walk through where students can locate private sector resources and how students can make the most of these resources when seeking summer and post-graduate employment. Resources to be discussed will range from sites useful to a biglaw job search to sites and directories that enable students to locate and target small and midsize firms. RSVP on Symplicity.
  • How to Navigate Judicial Clerkship Resources: September 20 (Wednesday), 12:00pm - 1:00pm, MPAA 408. Maximize your success in landing a clerkship! Learn how to access and use research sources that will help you quickly determine whether a particular clerkship is appealing to you, as well as resources to assist you in preparing more extensively for interviews with judges. This workshop is designed for 2Ls and 3Ls applying for post-graduate judicial clerkships who want to put their best foot forward and make the most of their application and interview process.   • Mentor-On-Demand Goes to Law School: September 8 (Friday), NOON Deadline. Seeking two UCI Law representatives! This program provides young OCBA members with video mentoring 24/7 from a variety of top-notch attorney's in Orange County. The selected representatives will be working with an assigned team of other OCBA members. To enter the lottery to represent UCI Law on this task force, email Elexus Harris by Friday, September 8th with a short explanation of your interest in the OCBA and/or the Mentor-On-Demand program. 
  • The Association of Intellectual Property Firms Annual Meeting: September 13-15 (Wednesday-Friday), San Francisco. The AIPF Annual Meeting is an opportunity to participate in the conference, network, and gain beneficial knowledge for future endeavors. This meeting is specifically directed towards practice management and the business of IP Law. There is a promotional rate for students. Find the registration form here and the program agenda here
  • National Conference of Vietnamese American Attorney Volunteer Opportunity: September 15-16 (Friday-Saturday), Chapman Law School. This conference provides an opportunity for attendees to connect with others who have similar dreams, and learn from those who have imagines, achieved and surpassed their career goals. NCVAA is looking for 8-10 students volunteers who can help set-up, sign-in attendees, package conference bags, take photos, and organize our panel rooms. Volunteers will have their registration fee waived and will be able to attend all events on Friday and Saturday. Please contact Sonia Nguyen if you are interested. 
  • Speed Mentoring with the Orange County Bench & Bar: September 28 (Thursday), Dale E. Folwer School of Law. Students from all four Orange County law schools are invited to participate in this program. The dress is business attire and dinner will be provided. RSVP here by Tuesday, September 26. 
  • Equal Justice Works Student Representative Program: This program is an opportunity to represent Equal Justice Works and use your law degree to help low-income, marginalized and/or vulnerable clients. EJW will select up to 50 student representatives nation-wide to participate in the 2017-18 program. For more information, visit here or email
  • Prosecutors to Change the World - Fall Event Series: November 1 (Wednesday), 6:30pm - 8:00pm, Loyola Law School. Through local events with notable speakers, partnerships with a broad array of legal organizations, the Public Rights Project aims to spark an important new conversation in the California legal community: prosecutors can and should be vehicles for social change. This event will be part of a 4-part series held in key area of California. More information will be provided as the event nears.
