  • Spring Interview Program: The 2017 Spring Interview Program is underway on Symplicity. Employers will schedule interviews with 1Ls, 2Ls, and 3Ls either at UCI Law, by phone/skype, or at employer offices throughout February and March. You can access the session through the OCI module on the left side of your screen, by selecting the "UCI Law 2017 Spring Interview Program." Some upcoming deadlines include:

    • 1Ls & 2Ls: Riverside District Attorney's Office (Riverside, CA) - February 3

  • Employer Spotlight: Courtyard, 12:00pm-1:00pm. Throughout the Spring semester, you will have the opportunity to connect with employers through this informal event. CDO Workshops
  • Department of Justice Legal Hiring Programs: February 9 (Thursday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, LAW 3750. Join U.S. DOJ Attorney Recruiter, Trisha A. Fillbach, for this presentation on the Department's four legal hiring programs. This presentation will be valuable for all students considering an internship, externship, or career with the Department of Justice. RSVP on Symplicity.
  • Equal Justice Works Information Session: February 10 (Friday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, LAW 3750. Calling all public interest students! Equal Justice Works is a nonprofit organization that offers a continuum of opportunities targeted at mobilizing the next generation of lawyers toward committing to creating a just society. Michelle Gaeng, Program Specialist, will offer information and advice about postgraduate fellowship opportunities, law student internship opportunities, educational awards for public interest internships, and managing student debt.   • Public Service/Public Interest Career Planning: February 15 (Wednesday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, LAW 3750. This workshop is designed for students interested in pursuing public service careers. The presentation will explore approaches to public service career planning, including tips on how to position yourself for a public service career while in law school, hiring programs and fellowships, and creating your personal calendar. 
  • Strategic Career Planning to Maximize Post-Graduate Success: February 23 (Thursday), 12:00pm-1:00pm, EDU 1131. This interactive program is designed to introduce students to the essential components of a comprehensive and strategic career action plan. The workshop will focus on activities and developing skills that enhance students’ short term and long term employment outcomes and professional success in the private and public sectors. Topics to be discussed include how to formulate a career plan, identify practice areas of interest, research employers, develop relevant substantive expertise, and engage in strategic and productive professional networking. Students will be encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and participate in a group conversation regarding these important topics!

  • American Immigration Lawyers Association, Southern California - "Immigration Law in Practice: Courtroom/Adjudicative Interview Tips & Avoiding Burnout": February 2 (Thursday), 5:30pm-8:30pm, Whittier Law School. This panel will cover attorney etiquette in removal and affirmative proceedings, how to avoid burnout in immigration law practice, and careers in immigration law in general.   • Public Interest/Public Sector Career Day (PICD): February 11 (Saturday), UCLA School of Law. Representatives from public interest organizations, government agencies and offices, and private public interest firms throughout Southern California will be in attendance to talk with and interview 1L, 2L, and 3L students. See the December 21st email from Tiffany Tsao for more information.
  • Knobbe Martens 2017 Cocktail Reception: February 15 (Wednesday), 5:30pm-8:00pm, Irvine. Knobbe Martens invites 1L, 2L, and 3L students with a technical background and an interest in IP law to attend. RSVP to Candice Lee with a resume by February 8. 
  • Orange County Coalition for Diversity Law Career Panel & Networking Reception: February 22 (Wednesday), 5:30pm-8:00pm, Orange. A complimentary reception for Southern California law students to meet with law firm attorneys and learn about life and the practice of law in Orange County. The evening will feature a panel presentation and an organized networking reception with a hosted bar and hors d'oeuvres. RSVP here
  • Equal Justice Works Public Interest Law Awards: Deadline March 10 (Friday). EJW awards are presented annually to eight law students from Equal Justice Works member schools who have a demonstrated commitment to public interest law and pro bono work. The Awards seek to identify and honor law students who have provided extraordinary service through clinics, volunteer work, internships, extracurricular projects, and more. Apply here by March 10.
  • 17th Annual Wm. Matthew Byrne Jr. Judicial Clerkship Institute: March 16-17 (Thursday-Friday), Pepperdine Law School. This program is dedicated to promoting justice and the federal judiciary through training federal judicial law clerks.
