  • 1L Resumes and Cover LettersFirst draft resumes are due to careers@law.uci.edu by November 4. 
  • 2L TranscriptsIf you are a 2L and have not picked up CDO complementary copies of your official transcript, please come by and do so.
  • 2Ls - 3Ls Fall Interview Program: The 2016 Fall Interview Program is underway on Symplicity. Employers will schedule interviews with qualified candidates at UCI Law, by phone/skype, or at employer offices throughout September and October. You can access the session through the OCI module on the left side of your screen, and then select the "UCI Law 2016 Fall Interview Program" from the Session dropdown menu. Some upcoming deadlines include: 
    • LA County Bar Association Counsel for Justice, Civic Mediation Project (Los Angeles, CA) - Oct. 21st 
    • 3Ls - Jones Day (Los Angeles, CA) - Oct. 21st

  • Equal Justice Works Conference and Career Fair Huddle: October 20 (Thursday), 12:45pm - 3:00pm, EDU 1000. All students planning to attend the 2016 EJW Conference and Career Fair in Washington DC should stop in to gain valuable insight, chat about the conference, and learn how to access the UCI Law support available throughout the career fair. In addition, you are invited to an evening event hosted by UCI Law alumni in DC! 
  • Patent Bar Exam Information Session: November 9 (Wednesday), 12:00pm - 1:00pm, MPAA 408. If you are a student with an undergrad degree (or at least two years of coursework) in engineering, computer sciences or the hard sciences (chemistry, biology, physics, some related fields), and are interested in becoming a Patent Agent or Attorney, the Practicing Law Institute (PLI) invites you to a presentation by John White, Academic Director of PLI’s Patent Office Exam Course. RSVP on Symplicity

  • Orange County Bar Association 1L Kickstart ProgramThe OCBA is excited to launch the 1L Kickstart Program, an inaugural program matching local lawyers with first year law students. Students from all four area law schools are invited to participate. All mentors are practicing attorneys in Orange County who have committed to one meeting with a student mentee. To be matched with an OCBA mentor, email Jon Trujillo by Monday, October 24. 
  • The Tax Institute at H&R Block Speaking Engagement: October 24 (Monday), 11:30am - 12:30pm, MPAA 120. The Tax Institute at H&R Block will be hiring multiple Tax Researchers for the upcoming tax season. H&R Block will be promoting opportunities with their company at this event. RSVP here by Wednesday, October 19.
  • Writing Your Federal Resume: October 24 (Monday), 3:00pm-4:30pm, Online Presentation. This presentation explains each section of the Job Opportunity Announcement in an effort to better inform applicants and to assist them in selecting the right job. The presentation highlights a three-part process to assist applicants in writing their Federal resume. Register for the class here.
  • 2016 OCKABA Annual Law Student Dinner Series - Litigation: October 25 (Tuesday), 7:00pm. The Korean American Bar Association of Southern California cordially invites you to attend dinner with practicing KABA attorneys. RSVP here.
  • Halloween Bash Fundraiser: October 28 (Friday), 6pm, The Randy Higbee Gallery. The Lavendar Bar Association of Orange County and Public Law Center host this annual event. EVERYONE will be in costume, with an Apple Watch for the best costume. Free food, drinks, music, a photo booth and psychics are all included in the event price. The first 20 students to register here will get $5 tickets courtesy of the OCLBA. PLC will subsidize 25 student tickets at $25 each here (check the top most recent post of instructions).  
  • Entertainment & Intellectual Property Law Symposium: November 12 (Saturday), 9:00am-1:00pm, Southwestern Law School. Law students from around Southern California are invited to attend the Annual Entertainment and Intellectual Property Law Symposium to hear about a "day in the life" of Entertainment and IP attorneys and how to break into the field.   • In-House Counsel Career Day: November 17 (Thursday), 6:00pm - 8:30pm, Whittier Law School. The Association of Corporate Counsel of Southern California is hosting a panel discussion and networking mixer for local law students to learn about in-house career paths. RSVP by October 20th to Jon Trujillo.
