Webinar: (Not) Making the Grade: Responding with Resiliency to Law School
The David Nee Foundation, a highly respected organization devoted to law student mental health, has teamed up with the ABA Law Student Division to offer a free Webinar for law students.  The Webinar will be held on Wednesday, April 1 at 4:00 pm our time.  This webinar will be offered by Katherine M. Bender and Anne Brafford. The pressure of law school can make many law students feel so exhausted and uncertain that, regardless of how well they do academically, they still feel like failures or imposters whose demise must be just around the corner. The science of positive psychology has found that teaching resilience skills can help people effectively respond to stress and bounce back from setbacks. One way that science has found to enhance resilience is through the “growth mindset” framework. Students’ mindsets have a direct influence on their grades as well as their psychological health and resilience. This webinar will teach law students about how to enhance their resilience by developing a growth mindset.  In order to respect law student privacy and anonymity, students may register in advance but they do not have to. They can simply click to join in at the time of the web conference: the links are the same for preregistration and for showing up at the time of the presentation.
