Student Organizations - Publicizing Your Event
If you want your event to appear in the UCI Law Weekly Email Newsletter, please choose this option on the Law Event Approval Form (LEAF) form. You may also email Assistant Dean for Communications and Public Affairs Rex Bossert at firstname.lastname@example.org by Thursday at 12:00 noon to be included in the Newsletter that is emailed to the UCI Law Community every Friday. Please only include events scheduled in the next week. We limit event announcements so that the list of events is not too long.
If you would like your event to be listed in the SBA weekly email, please email email@example.com by Friday at 12:00 noon to be included in the weekly email.
By providing a brief description of your event on the Law Event Approval Form (LEAF) form, we will include your event description in the UCI Law Calendar of Events available online at law.uci.edu for the UCI Law community and the larger public. Your event description will also be picked up on the RSS feed running on the electronic message boards in the LAW and EDU buildings and on MPAA 4th Floor (see image at right).
If you are hosting a special event and would like to run your event flyer on the digital screens, you must submit the flyer or basic event details to Web Editor Iris Yokoi at firstname.lastname@example.org and Student Life Director Dana Onorato at email@example.com at least two weeks prior to your event. The flyer must meet design and image quality standards in order to be considered. Please include only the basic who, what, why, when and where details for the digital screen, as too much copy crowds the screen and makes it hard to read. If approved, we will run your flyer in the digital sign rotation for one week prior to your event.
Bulletin Boards are located in 7 locations on campus:
Flyers may only be posted on bulletin boards. Please limit your event flyers to one per bulletin board. Event flyers are allowed to be posted two weeks prior to your event. Event flyers posted in other areas of the Law School will be removed.
If you are interested in sending out a media advisory, please contact Rex Bossert at firstname.lastname@example.org at least two weeks in advance to coordinate the details.
You are welcome to create a Facebook Page and/or Twitter account to promote your organization and events. All Facebook pages and Twitter Accounts must be created and maintained in a professional manner. All student organizations are required to include a disclaimer on their Facebook and Twitter accounts that states, "The information and views displayed on this account are reflective of XX student organization and do not necessarily reflect the view of the University of California, Irvine School of Law."
If you will host an event on main campus or would like to promote your event to the larger UCI community, you can view publicity options on the Campus Organizations Marketing and Publicity Page.
