General Information and Admission Standards

We are seeking to create a community of law students from among the most talented and intellectually skilled applicants who will help us build the ideal law school of the 21st century.

We are looking for applicants whose intellectual curiosity and collegial spirit will enable them to enter the School of Law with enthusiasm, dedication, and determination to become ethical lawyers in a profession that is diverse, demanding, challenging, and rewarding. And we seek applicants whose commitment to giving back to the community is an essential component of their educational goals as lawyers-in-training and, eventually, as practicing attorneys.

All applicants must have earned a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in order to be eligible for admission as a full-time law student in the J.D. program.

All applicants must also have a valid LSAT score. The December 2009 LSAT exam, and its corresponding score, is the last opportunity for applicants who do not have a reportable score, or who wish to possibly improve on an existing score, to take the exam in order to be eligible for admission as a full-time law student in the J.D. program commencing in August 2010.

Currently, there is no evening or part-time study at the School of Law.

If you have any questions about the application process, please call (949) 824-4545 or email lawadmit@law.uci.edu.
