Media Advisory for March 20 UC Irvine Public Interest Law Fund Launch Gala


WHAT: Like to play poker with Chief Judge Alex Kozinski of the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals? This is just one of the many fun and interesting auction items you can bid on Saturday at the UC Irvine Public Interest Law Fund launch gala. This evening of celebration and fundraising is UC Irvine School of Law’s inaugural Public Interest Law Fund event to enable current and future UCI Law students to hold summer positions at nonprofit organizations. Proceeds will provide stipends to students who accept non-paying, full-time public interest jobs this summer. It’s a party with cocktails, entertainment, food stations, silent and live auctions, plus a legal ethics presentation by Dean Erwin Chemerinsky (6:30 to 7:30 p.m.; CLE credit available).
