Sarah Lawsky and Robert Solomon win teaching awards

April 26, 2013

The first annual Student Bar Association teaching awards were announced on April 18 after a vote among the students was tallied. Prof. Sarah Lawsky won the vote for the top teacher among the 1Ls, and Prof. Robert Solomon was tops among the second- and third-year students. Students in Lawsky’s Common Law Analysis: Contracts class said among other things that she was open, supportive, caring and funny. “She was my favorite professor of the year, direct, clear and patient,” said one student. Solomon’s Evidence, Trial Advocacy and clinical students commented on his ability to create a collaborative community, and to be both “enjoyable and instructive.” He tells good stories, said one, and “nothing beats” his collection of Hawaiian shirts, said another.
