Prof. Hasen was named to The National Law Journal’s list of the nation’s 100 Most Influential Lawyers. He is one of only eight academics on the list, which includes mostly practicing lawyers and government officials. The editors pointed to his frequent commentary on election law and campaign finance in national news outlets such as The New York Times, Fox News and National Public Radio as a reason he was chosen. The NLJ called him a leading academic, and said his Election Law Blog is a "must-read" for those interested in the latest about voting. Hasen has also testified before the U.S. Senate three times in recent years. "Our goal, in the end, was to identify members of law's power elite," the editors wrote in presenting the list.
